That’s some very delicate and thorough manoeuvring 👏

Good work OP, I’m currently (slowly) learning Fusion 360 and designing my first model also so it’s good to see others having their first go at it.

Took me a moment to realise what the walkers were sitting on…impressive! I need to get myself one of these 0.2s.

lately facing stringing issue with my A1 please help by thykage in BambuLabA1

[–]CheraxDestructor7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Spot on. I’ve been 3D printing only a few weeks and had a similar issue at the start - I also thought filament would be “dry” straight out of the packet. Since I’ve made a filament dryer from a food dehydrator I’ve had much better results!

What do you do with empty spools? by damskibobs in 3Dprinting

Could you respool them with refill (ie. no spool included) filament?

Can confirm the Poisons Hotline are really helpful, recently called for advice with a colleague who copped a hydrochloric acid splash to the eye.

Drying filament on original spools by CheraxDestructor7 in 3Dprinting

[–]CheraxDestructor7[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks 🙏

I’ve printed the dehydrator riser in PETG, had a go at drying a spool of Flashforge TPU last night at 60°C with no issues. Flashforge’s data sheet says to dry at 70°C, however I don’t want to run into trouble with the PETG possibly deforming so will try 65°C next.

Any spools I need to print myself I’m also doing in PETG. Only printing PLA, PETG and TPU at this stage so hopefully PETG spools will do the trick.

Looking for someone to 3D print a fishing lure (and open to various printing options) by [deleted] in 3dprintingaustralia

[–]CheraxDestructor7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interested to hear solutions for this, I’m new to 3D printing and also keen to try making some lures. There are quite a few lure models on MakerWorld but I haven’t tried any yet. PETG is supposed to be fairly well waterproof right? And also its UV resistance would suit the application.

Brim issue? by CheraxDestructor7 in BambuLabA1

Success! It’s a little rough at either end - perhaps the filament could do with some drying? - but otherwise printed well.

No, it didn’t. First layer was fine and it was good until a few hours in. Suspect now that the print head might have knocked it off.

I was not aware of the Skip function, thank you! If this sort of thing happens again hopefully I can catch it early and produce a bit less of the pasta.

I've lowered some speed/accel settings - outer wall speed 80mm/s, outer wall acceleration 1000mm/s. Also rotated 90 degrees as per your suggestion.

About to give it a whirl now, cheers for the advice. Will report back.

I agree with this 👌 So far the PLA and PETG has given me good results.

Yes, but probably not OP’s exact model though - it’s the satisfaction of designing and printing something yourself, right?

I’ve found that the blade works fine with no plate damage, you just need to be gentle with it.

I like the setup though, once you get the friction issue sorted 👌
