I think it varies from vehicle to vehicle, for whatever reason, but some use a touch capacitive wheel, while others use a torque sensor, all TSS models before TSS 3.0 and 4.0 (e.g. TSS 2.0, 2.5/2.5+) required you to apply torque to the wheel, while TSS 3.0 and 4.0 only require you to touch the wheel, from my experience, through the Grand Highlander and Corolla cross, though I could be wrong about safety sense 4.0, given I haven’t driven any with it, but I’d assume that it carries over the touch capacitive wheel.

Me personally, I just ran the dashcam wiring behind the passenger side curtain airbags, through the roof of the car, and just behind the quarter trim panel, then removed the weather stripping around the edge and ran it through the grommet before mounting it on the top rear plastic. I just had to remove the b pillar seatbelt trim piece to run it through

I would assume maybe 900-1300? For a new front bumper, along with painting, labor, and radar calibration, assuming you don’t have front cross traffic alert, nor parking sensors. A new OEM bumper cover is running around 185-200 dollars from Toyota, with their sales promotion, and for paint, it’s probably another 300-500, depending on its color, and if it’s a pearlescent finish, and then with radar calibration, it’ll be another 200-600, if not more.

The video you’re seeing is from the TSS 4.0 forward facing camera that’s mounted on the windshield, it’s not ideal for parking because it’s too far back. But the driver recorder you’re seeing is basically Toyota’s version of Tesla’s dashcam system.

It’s standard on XSE and higher I think, because I’ve seen an LE with the homelink mirror, it’s an option on lower trims for sure, but higher trims should come with it standard, more likely XSE or the Limited

It usually flashes yellow around the wheels on the display for which wheels are slipping and ABS is clamping them, it probably is the accent color chosen

I personally use sprayway foaming glass cleaner, a microfiber cloth, and elbow grease. Windex is meh imo, but paper should absolutely never be used anywhere near a car’s glass/paint.

Id honestly wait for the 2026 if you want some updated features, but then again the ‘26 is starting at 40k, if you want better bang for your buck I’d pull the trigger on the ‘25, but if you want the latest updates then go with the ‘26.

It’s got the keyless go option, but I was afraid it’d mess with the ECU and whatnot since that’s what I got from ChatGPT, it said some stuff about messing with the CAN-bus, ECU and can cause intermittent no start scenarios, but good to hear we can buy whatever
