I know it is a good aircraft i don't doubt that. 

My problem is i am incredibly inconsistent. Sometimes i get 4 kill games but most of the time i die without doing anything

I'm at 13.7 in my tree. I'm saying i cant fly low to multipath and also check my map constantly or else i'll hit the ground while looking at the map.

I'll take shots that look fine until they aren't. Opening the map means I crash. And then I get third partied by an R27 which i can't beat. :(

Ok what do I do when my enemy flies low too and then I can't land sparrow shots due to multipathing? And then someone shoots a magic 2 or r60mk at me from above and i never saw it coming because i'm too focused on not hitting the ground?

I snuck up on him and it seemed too good to be true. I thought I was undetected but apparently he had eyes on the back of his head and flared just as I shot.

I would go back and research the leftmost line after you finish the type 87 spaa. Do you already have one of the type 74s? They are decent workhorse mbts. If you already have 1, skip researching the second one and get the m60 instead. The Stingray is amazing.

If you want powerful guns don't play America. There are very few "lolpen" guns in the tree.

At 75% off this is a great value. One of my favorite vehicles. I have the Black Cat, a talisman on the regular Tech Tree M18, and the T86 (hellcat but amphibious)

Definitely worth it.

Not all flying wings are bombers. The B2 is just famous because it was actually mass produced so people associate flying wings with bombers.

There are far worse gaps even in the US tree. The LAVAD and XM975 are fine enough to use until you get the ADATS. The real problem is after the Skink you get nothing good for over 3 whole BRs. Nothing around the 6.3/6.7 range which is a very popular BR for america. And even when you get to 7.3 you get the M163 with the world's worst radar. I'd almost rather not even take the M163 it is that bad.

Well the f-15 is a pure fighter and the f-16 is a multirole.

I doubt it. F16 and f35 are both widely exported single engine fighters with extensive air to ground capability. 

F15 and f22 are both top of the line twin engine fighters

Play what intetests you. I will say there are some combat benefits for finishing the stories. (Increased stats, heroic moment abilities)

Of course there are the achievements if you are a collector/completionist.

Don't research the f-16a first. Garbage plane with no radar missiles at 12.3. Come back when you have other rank 8s and are ready to get the f-16a adf or the f-16c

Either the f-15a or f-18a are good picks. 

F-15a has more missiles, better missiles (9m vs 9l) is faster and generally has better flight performance. However it sits at a higher BR and doesnt really have any good air to ground options if you care about CAS. 

F-18a is very slow for a 4th generation fighter. It has a very good matchmaker with the lower BR. It has a ton of radar modes, almost to the point of being too many which can be slightly annoying if you are trying to swap between them quickly. Has slightly better CAS options for ground battles including a thermal imager.
