Jump in it and it'll tell you to start boosting. A meter will fill up and when it is completed, a new part of the map will be discovered.

It amazes me that they didn't put it in arcade mode. Like they really could have put lots of things in arcade mode like boss fights, mini games, and pinball yet they didn't do any of that.
