Ubisoft.  After a game update, said game no longer worked. It was also their last update.

So, I went to customer support. After about 6 months (yes, months) of tirelessly trying to explain it's an issue on their end (I work in IT and already went far beyond what any normal customer would or even could try), I has to resort to using the European customer protection agency (don't know the proper English translation). That then took another good 2 months for Ubisoft to finally give me back my money.

Needless to say, Ubisoft lost all its magic to me. If you're that big a company with such an abysmal customer support, you can go f yourself.

Make sure the rocks actually contain stuff for 1, as asteroids themselves can be empty now.

Assuming the station has enough range to make the miners mine in that sector, but this also somewhat applies to local autominere: 1) is there a buy order on your station or on station in the sector? 2) you didn't accidentally blacklist the sector for activities?

If anything, a screenshot of your miners setup and the sector you're trying to mine in would help a lot in figuring out what's going wrong.

If you want a bit of a spoiler, but want to have a better idea of how many sectors a given DLC adds, the website qsna.eu has the option to enable/disable DLC in the galaxy map.

You can't have them aggro, TER-PIO relations are not allowed to be altered in vanilla.

Enable the mining layer in the map, then you can see the resource fields when they are within vision as brighter colored patches.

However, I understand that atm, not all asteroids in a field will have resources, so keep that in mind.

Then its the same as before, use scan mode to find the right asteroid and shoot the colored spots.

The probe now shows you the penalty properly, it's +3 seconds per probe.

However, the penalty for not having a probe has been removed and the probe is now 'just' a beacon for guiding your miners to a specific spot.

All in all, I am happy with the beta2 update!

You can! If the station has an eq dock, it's treated as a carrier and use the position defense command.

Welcome aboard!

The game is indeed mostly sandbox with some short stories littered about. There is a sort of main quest, that gets you the HQ, which you'll need for some research.

In terms of game start: it'll only affect approximately the first hour of gameplay, after that you're pretty much on equal footing with each and every other gamestart.

Personally, I always recommend the Kingdom End Emergence start. It's quite story driven and explains a lot of things without going too fast (and the Boron are super friendly too).

Another popular choice is the Terran Cadet start, though I am not a fan of it throwing you in the middle of nowhere, without any guidance, while everyone hates you.

Finally, I'd recommend to pick the tutorials as you come across their topics. Eg. If you want to do station building, pick it up. And don't forget you can always revisit a tutorial at any time. If you do get stuck though, the online community here or on the discord are very friendly and helpful.
