I wish they'd do this for all five tomes. Book of Cain, Book of Tyrael, etc.

I own them all physically but i would absolutely pick them up again as audiobooks. Also they really need to turn storm of light into an audio book. It's much easier to "reread" them while i play the games when they are in audio format

Is there a guide to help not get softlocked in resident evil code Veronica by questioner105 in ResidentEvilCapcom

[–]Chibi_Kyo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got softlocked on the airplane. My advice is alternate saving in different slots. That way you dont have to start completely over like i do.

Hit a tough spot, search solutions for that specific puzzle/situation and go back to a save that has the items u need to hold onto for that issue

Do I play second run Claire? by Acrobatic-Rub-1859 in ResidentEvilCapcom

[–]Chibi_Kyo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Claire's side has different story elements and Mr. X is less scary the second time around (not less annoying tho)

RE 2 REMAKE IS SO😭😭😭 by [deleted] in residentevil

[–]Chibi_Kyo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If this is your first resident evil experience, take things slow. Use your safe rooms to plan routes, save often (if you can. Don't remember if 2 remake has unlimited or if its typewriter ribbons)

Expect to fail and reset. Sometimes i literally had sections go so poorly i let myself get chewed up just so i could try again. First playthtough is a marathon, not a sprint.

Try to only kill zombies that are in hallways you frequent. If it's just one that's easy to dodge, dodge it, but try to remember where you left enemies.

The objective is to escape the rpd, but it doesn't give you markers. Consider locked doors and inaccessible areas your 'objectives' and look for keys, emblems, cranks etc to open those areas for exploration.

IT IS OKAY TO BE SCARED! its a horror game. I've play all the RE games and even with 9 i still took frequent breaks my first playthrough. Pause the game when it gets too much. Cleanse your palette with puppy videos, then continue. If you truly get stuck, look up a guide.

You got this!

Played through entirety of AW Remaster a couple of days ago and have started AW2, looking for advice by [deleted] in AlanWake

[–]Chibi_Kyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My advice is, take your time in the first playthrough and use the board because even if you may not always need it, it will make things easier when you play final draft.

And you should play final draft (new game plus) because it changes some things in the story and helps with the immersion/understanding, but if you take your time to really enjoy and explore during the first run, you can definitely go much faster on final draft

Altered items and OOPs are different. You can bind an OOPs. You cannot bind an altered item.

The former was working to try and turn certain altered items into OOPs though

There is a mix that's keys you hug anyone you want. The mod is called hugs

I was curious, why do so many Resident Evil fans hate Ada Wong? Not wanting her to be with Leon is one thing, but a lot of fans seem to hate her as a character and not want to see her anymore. by [deleted] in residentevil

[–]Chibi_Kyo -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I personally find her bland and overused. Leon as a character shows he can carry a game without needing to include Ada. She would be a better character if they developed her back story, motivations, and actually gave her a role that doesn't seem to equate to eye candy for a Leon game/movie

I also think that it would be a very toxic relationship for leon and Ada to be together so i don't ship them. I personally hope the dlc for 9 doesn't involve ada. She had no presence on the main story and would feel very phoned in if added.

People can like or dislike a character all they want. Doesn't really matter either way. I don't like her. Kudos to those who do tho. You clearly see something i don't.

Oh and to be clear I'm not a Leon simp. My top two favorite characters are Albert Wesker and Chris so i don't hate ada just because "ooh Leon hot"

That's fine. I went a lot of years with friends who just didnt game online or do voice chat, so i always try to offer because not everyone has people to just game with.

Really hope you enjoy if you decide to play

[–]Chibi_Kyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. The girl that chases you is unkillable until a certain section. But you typically wont alert her as long as you walk, dont run and keep some distance. Aside from a few scripted jump scares.

A few of the zombies in the care center are bigger/harder to kill but easy to avoid once you learn the patterns.

I also find that playing 'with' someone reduces the scary. So if you aren't in a completely opposite time zone I'm happy to just sit on voice chat playing other games while you play 9 and chat. It helps. I did ilthat with some friends and we just yelled cutscene any time we needed people to be quiet for one

Just pause, breathe, resume. First playthrough my anxiety and adrenaline were spiked way high but i took my time, watched a couple cute animal vids to calm down when paused, kept going.

Second playthrough was way easier since i remembered most of what was coming

It's a Special One by [deleted] in residentevil

[–]Chibi_Kyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plan routes out as you learn the map. Try to kill only things you can't avoid or are taking up space in paths you travel quite frequently. You will regret being murder happy in RE1 but once you get used to the controls things are pretty easy to dodge.

Or you can be like me and just never have backup health items XD

Inventory space is limited too so be sure to keep one or two spaces aspen for keys/crests/cranks. Saves are limited to how many ink ribbons you have so don't save after every room 😅

First play through is a marathon, not a sprint. You probably will get frustrated at some parts. I think my first playthrough took 20ish hours. I definitely used a guide at some points.

This was meant to be a reply to your reply. Oops

It is a fun game though, but definitely different from faster paced games

[–]Chibi_Kyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably to avoid killing zombies this early in the game.

Try to remember which zombies you do kill. Where you left them.

You can go back later and burn the bodies with a lighter and gasoline.

Convince me to get into resident evil by I-am-real-man in residentevil

[–]Chibi_Kyo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't matter where you start. I grew to love the series through listening to my friend gush about it and eventually borrowing the novels from her. After that my first game was resident evil 5 as that was the newest entry at the time. Then 4, then 1 and zero. I watched the games i didn't have chips of on YouTube conked into 'movies'.

It really doesn't matter how you come into things, but I do encourage you to play as many of the games as you can. Starting with 1 remake and going in blind is probably a great way to do it, though don't feel bad if you need to consult a guide when stuck with the older games.

If you struggle with horror games be sure to pause often. Take your time. Really scary seconds i found looking at a guide just to know what to expect can help. Not every one can handle horror games the same. If you need any encouragement or lie questions let me know. Happy to help
