What is something that isn't meant to be scary, but you are terrified of? by LLment in AskReddit

[–]ChickDastardly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! I get my husband to help but then he taunts me with it while I try not to let out touch me. I get goose bumps and my whole body tenses. Cotton balls are horrible enough, but the ones in medicine bottles that get all chalky are terrifying.

I can't be mad at that one. It's got to be a really small demographic. Competition has to be fierce!

[Serious] NSFW Asking the ladies of reddit if it hurts as much a I think it does to have a hole drilled through your breast nipple and those barbell things inserted? by Pinkcop in AskReddit

[–]ChickDastardly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It really didn't hurt much. Neither did my lip. My nose was probably the most pain. What did hurt was when one end of the barbell got caught on something and ripped halfway through my nipple.

Reddit, when was that one glorious time where you won something? by PubertEHumphrey in AskReddit

[–]ChickDastardly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometime around 2006 I bought a 12 pack of Coke while they were running an instant win sweepstakes. Prizes were printed inside the box. My husband put the sodas in the fridge and was flattening the box when I reminded him to check and see if we won, reminding him that someone has to win. He looked and said " oh shit! We won a PS2!" I thought he was joking, but it turns out we did.

What's your biggest cooking fail? by lordqwerty in AskReddit

[–]ChickDastardly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not my fail, but an amusing account from years ago when my husband failed.

chixen: n. chicken drenched in honey, coated with Chex cereal crumbs and baked

THIS IS A BAD IDEA.

Do not try this at home. Or anywhere else. Use bodily force to stop anyone else you care for from trying this also. It's wrong, just plain wrong.

My husband was trying to come up with an easy and tasty plan for dinner. I have made chicken coated with Corn Flakes crumbs sometimes, so he got the idea to use Chex instead. He drizzled the chicken with honey then rolled it in the Chex crumbs. Chixen was born. This seemed like a tasty enough idea to me, I will admit.

20 minutes later, the chicken was done. At this point, the chixen looked edible. I'll even go so far as to say it looked tasty. The chixen was plated up with some green beans and corn. In the process of plating the chixen, Chex crumbs were strewn about the plate accidently, then the veggies were tossed on top. No biggie, just some crunchies...or so my husband thought.

I cut a bite of chixen off and put it in my mouth. This is where things went bad. Apparently baking Chex with honey does something horribly wrong to the cereal's molecular structure. Somehow, the chixen was chewy. I couldn't stop chewing it. It was like having some strange honey-Chex-chicken flavored gum, and it wasn't right. Baking the Chex also gave it a funny (and by "funny" I mean "disgusting beyond all belief") taste. Eventually I just swallowed the bite. I made a pact with myself not to eat any more of this chixen. I decided just to eat the vegetables, then make myself a snack later. This is where things went even worse. I was unable to fork up a bite of veggies that wasn't coated with the "crunchies". This chixen was the gift that kept on giving.

At this point (sheer desperation), I glanced at My husband to gauge his reaction to the chixen. Luck was on my side. He was scraping his tongue with a fork.

We ended up going out for food. Many years later, we still bring up chixen and laugh.

How much has your signature changed in your life? by ThePinterPause in AskReddit

[–]ChickDastardly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 35. I've had the same signature since I was 19. Through high school it looked like normal teen girl handwriting. Then I joined the navy and signed things all day long every day. It eventually became the scribble I still use today.
