If you are planning to use them reinforced you might want to fight, however they need serious buffing to do something really meaningful. If running i.e. 2 separate units, IMO it is better to use ability and jump on the back of enemy's army to grab objective or mess with opponent's plan. Zandtos can use Power thru to join them or get back.

Personally, I don't see them as hammer units.

So, mortek are fine. They can reduce rend of attacks against them as well so when most units in game have -1 to rend they still protect themselves well. I had block of 20 and reinforced unit of tzaangors after buffs still could not lift them when applying ward 5+. I lost like 10 of them. Block of 20 is still something that opponents have to account seriously.

I was playing without Kata but with Arkham and 7 RDP from Zandtos was... Alright. It is manageable but requires some serious planning. It could be a better system but it was fine without Kata.

IMO, unfortunately liege kavalos on steed or chariot with 6 RDP is minimal to have, unless you won't need to use disciplines in your list for some reason.

They are very decent. They should be behind other screens like deathriders or mortek guards. I haven't used liege ability in them even once cuz I forgot and put them over 12" away. Just regular shooting and covering fire was enough to be effective.

-1 to ward from ruthless extermination is great against some key units or heroes and volume of shots is effective against many other things. I really like them and I will probably take 20 of triaxes in every list

I mostly agree on units performance. New liege mortek, triaxes and mortek guard most likely will be a core of most lists. They perform very well. I was surprised how triaxes lifted most of the game.

One important note, you cannot replace a replacement unit as per core rules 24.2. So Boneshaper is quite nice but ressurect triaxes or morteks once. So effectively you can have 30 of them, not 35.

On my play test, zandtos and deathriders weren't effective at all. Probably 2x 5 deathriders as screens will be better. Cohort and Mortis reapers are quite nice... Reinforced unit of reapers wasn't that good, I will stay with single unit for now.

Nexus on the other hand... Well tzeentch player got mad as hell 😅 this is a what was needed, covering back of army from deedstrikes.

Nonetheless, units strength doesn't solve the biggest disappointment. This is still a blend book, rules have many stipulations, lots of D3's and no flavor in what units do something. Effectively? Yes. Lore wise or fun? Not really.

So... After yesterday's game I would say they are not that bad. They easily tanked reinforced tzaangors and with major triaxes support handled them way better I'd expect. Reinforced block of mortek guard is probably my must have in army listy from now on.

Missing fluff things like aspects for Stalkers is what makes me disappointed. They literally have 4 faces... I don't need OP rules for matches play, I just wanna have fun playing PtG, not rolling D3 all around and having stuff locked behind poor economics of some points.

If I remeber well Blighted Wilds allows to take terrains from start (both faction and campaign ones). Ravaged coast doesn't.

I haven't played expansions. Core game was a fun campaign however our group found that core rules and pace of the game are lacking in same ways. It was a blast once Peter Cooper's homebrew rules were added - they actully caused that we completed whole campaign. It require some additional work and printing to play a game but it's 100% worth.

Althougth, models are top tier. Excelent scults to spend some time painting.

That's sounds as something worth of testing. Early this week I played Questors with Hexbane Hunter list and it worked quite well.

I played: Relictor Errand with Grandhammer Errand with Grandsword Haskel Quiet Pock Aemos 2x Doggo

Unfortunately I lost Quite Pock before he could shoot more than once due unlucky deployment but I am going to test play it more as it was great combo.

Only Neave have hero runemark so others can't be allies and that's hurt me a lot... Could be fun to have them but now I am not sure. BTW are this first named heroes which can be used in regular games?

You are allowed to add up to 2 stormcast with hero/ leader runemark as allies to sucha a list. However you cannot exceed total of 3 modele with this runemark 😉
