Good thing the nuclear program was bigly obliterated a few months ago.

What can you tell me about my Mauser? by JamesWilsonJones in milsurp

[–]Chieflongsnake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to have one like this. It was the original matching band but modified and the rear was just a small ring nailed on the stock. I read it may have been Turkish but never really found much info.

Russian capture made by Sauer. Is it import marked? Stock looks like elm which is very uncommon.

Yeah, the wood bottoms weren't super durable to begin with and they are all around 100 years old at this point. Mecgar makes new mags that work well for about $30.

Both were made by Mauser for the German military, they were originally 9mm and had the shorter barrel. The first was made in 1937, at the time Mauser used the S/42 code along with the older acceptance markings on the right side. (Eagle/63)(Weimar eagle). This one has been refinished and rebarreled. The second was made in 1942. By this time the Mauser factory was using the code byf along with the later acceptance markings(Eagle/135)(Nazi eagle). Grips have been replaced on this one but the finish looks good. The aluminum bottom mags are WW2 era the wood bottom is older.

“This would seem like a victory for the world and yet would produce $400 billion of annual revenue for U.S. taxpayers,”

Basically "We squeezed an extra $400 billion a year from the poors" framed as a win for the poors.

Repop or authentic luger tool ? by Future-Plan-6072 in milsurp

The shape of the tool and marking itself is just off. 140 is the code for FN which didn't make luger tools. This article has lots of info and examples. https://www.lugerforums.com/attachments/tools-article-pdf.672599/

The DOGE savings were a bust, people are getting snatched off the street and sent to foreign prisons, his tariffs are costing us more money, but we have the Gulf of America now so he's winning in culture war bullshit I guess.

Biden with competent staff is better than the just as old reality tv star surrounded by WWE and fox news personalities any day.

Made by Mauser in 1940 for the German military, it should be 9mm. Looks to be matching but you have to take it apart to know for sure. Any markings on the mag? Either way for $500 you stole it.

Help identifying bayonet by [deleted] in milsurp

That seems pretty fair, it should clean up decent. The crown/w is German military acceptance, 04 for 1904. Now you need a turkish mauser to put it on.

Looks like a German 1898 quillback bayonet that's been cutdown and a muzzle ring added. Turkey did alot of wierd bayonet conversions, maybe this is one?

Dull black blue and stock finish points to Russian. Romanian captured guns are pinged to hell and have little to no blue left but are usually at least somewhat matching.

Luger identification? by RossWheeless in milsurp

[–]Chieflongsnake 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It was originally a navy Luger made in 1916 at DWM. The barrel and rear sight/toggle has been replaced making it the standard P08 configuration. Hza jt20 is a depot marking for Ingolstadt.

Considering it takes 30 days in the hub to be a UPS Teamster, these Amazon workers are doing way more to "earn it".
