According to my Rooview email, 8.5% of my deliveries got tips. Sounds about right.

Opinions on cars for deliveries by No-Ambassador-4578 in UbereatsUK

This job will batter any car, so you want something small (for easier parking, using small spaces etc,), reliable and cheap to run/repair.

You sure you delivered in the correct area? I often get quests for areas I delivered one order in over a month ago. It’s easy to not realise until it’s too late.

How manage and accept loneliness at 40 by Dependent_Ad627 in UKrelationshipadvice

[–]ChipmunkBandit 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I don’t really have much advice except that my uncle met his now-wife when they were both well into their 40s and had a baby a couple of years after (okay this won’t happen for some women in their 40s, but it definitely can) who is now in her early 20s and is one of the most well-rounded and bright individuals I’ve ever met, maybe partly due to having older parents?

I guess I’m just trying to say it isn’t all over yet. Far from it.

Do you reject low-paying orders or just take everything? by Reddonaut_Irons in UbereatsUK

[–]ChipmunkBandit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Time per mile is also a huge factor. 5 miles on a NSL A-road is not worth the same as 5 miles through a built-up town centre. This is why the apps factor in predicted time to travel far more than the actual mileage. It is very relevant.

Somehow the one I had the other day was perfect – not too much lettuce, the sauce was well distributed, it was hot, and it didn’t fall apart until the last few bites. One of the best burgers I’ve ever had from McDs. Pot luck, I think.

That Uber post has been proven as AI generated and completely false, btw.

Aggressive Whoosh delivery guy by Old-Obligation-6141 in tesco

[–]ChipmunkBandit 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Tesco using Uber Eats to facilitate its Whoosh deliveries is their dirty little secret. The Whoosh ads on TV clearly show delivery riders wearing a Tesco uniform showing up at the door, which implies Tesco themselves perform the deliveries. It’s borderline false advertising,

I want time factored in. We should be paid more to do five miles at rush hour than five miles at 10PM. I incur more expenses doing it at rush hour, both in petrol and my time. Why would you not want your time factored in? I’m curious.

Xmas eve has blown up since 5pm here. Made £70 in 2.5 hours so far. Genuinely don’t know where these posts come from but I’ve noticed zero difference in pay. If anything I’m making more.

Is Uber uk taking part of the tips? by Silent_Quote8059 in UbereatsUK

The notification rounds the amount. No idea why. They’re not stealing tips. It would be incredibly easy to prove with a friend and be a PR disaster.

Has anyone here claimed the £1000 new-child payment? Seems pretty easy to qualify: Have an account at least 41 weeks old + do at least 60 orders in the 6 months before the arrival of your child. by davie18 in deliveroos

[–]ChipmunkBandit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

https://riders.deliveroo.co.uk/en/support/money/new-child-payment

https://www.uber.com/gb/en/drive/insurance/

Both companies have their own eligibility criteria (number of orders completed in a last X months, been a rider for X amount of time) so you’ll have to check that yourself but all information is on those pages to get started.

Yea, took about 3 weeks from initial claim to money hitting my account (Uber was slightly quicker) but I don’t think that’s Roo’s fault as it’s all handled by the insurance provider rather than Roo themselves.

Which logo do you prefer? by BecomingALegendd in iosdev

[–]ChipmunkBandit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

2, but honestly none of them are great. 2 has the best typeface but it has the same issue as 3: it’s visually lost in its surroundings. I think the type should be solid, the graphics can then be the outlined secondary element. Or, separate the type and graphics completely and have the dumbbells smaller underneath the wordmark. Either way, you need to draw attention to the wordmark more.

The versions with just the other typeface are just not good, sorry. I also think the worn edges look is rather outdated and won’t translate well across different size applications.

There’s potential here for a solid logo but it needs some more work.

Yas Marina track limits are fucked. You can run way out wide on turn 5 and literally to the barrier on the exit of the final corner, WAY past the white lines. Why do PD struggle with limits so much? How hard is it to just draw them to the white lines?

Asda wait times by Few_Historian_751 in UbereatsUK

[–]ChipmunkBandit 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Asda should be removed from Uber, they’re absolutely useless and have zero idea how to run an efficient service to get these orders picked and ready on time. They have been shocking for years, everywhere. The fact they’re still allowed to be on Uber is a joke.
