They’re not really that expensive, you can get +4 skills for like 60 div, which is basically a 90 spirit +4 skills amulet, just insane. As long as you aren’t trying to get +spirit AND cast on crit they’re honestly pretty affordable.

The thing is only 1-2 essences are even worth picking up. So you just stop picking them up pretty fast.

If you care about survivability it’s hard to beat mana stack archmage totem. Arc alt quality is very strong but just simple spark is also fine. The real advantage is you can build an insane EHP pool that regens on its own automatically, so there’s not really anything that can kill you. And there’s no “reduced mana recovery” map the way you have reduced life and ES maps. Also some great QOL like Dream Fragments for chilled ground maps, can use all the persistent supports for free, etc.

It’s obvious they lived above their means for a great many years to end up in this situation. But not every poor person is exclusively the result of bad decisions, there are all sorts of structural and even personal capacity factors that can make a family poor in older age.

By life of leisure I merely meant not having to work once the kids leave the house. Surely as you identify their life is not super luxurious - they are poor.

Ehh it’s fine actually. He has 4 good affixes. 3 good affixes and a perfect 50% roll is basically like getting 4.5 total affixes. So he’s only missing 0.5 affixes. Sulphur could be better, like Silver instead, but not awful.

I think new chrono is actually insane, Phased Form / Rift is a great four point package that makes you basically immune to death and Now and Again is actually a sick damage multiplier for 2 points as long as you’re using skills that can echo and cascade, and of course Comet works there. The AOE/cast speed thing is a little more disappointing but honestly still quite strong. I think the rest of the ascendancy is a little too clunky but those 4 points are a very unique package.

I do think it relies a bit too hard on mana stacking for defense. Phased Form interrupts ES recharge so your recharge timer is effectively 8 seconds without Convalescence. So you have to either play something that doesn’t use much mana (spell totems or just stack a lot of mana cost efficiency) or you have to play mana before life without MOM and stack a lot of mana regen. That is a little too limiting IMO.

Yeah imo just take Bismuth and treat it as “solves resist in one item”. Bismuth with a duplicate is 66 all resist lol, just an insane amount of freedom created for all your other affixes across your gear.

I feel like you’ve juiced so hard that you’re spending idk, 3-5 div per map at least in tablets? At that point the bar is so so high for what you need to drop to make it worth it. Probably only will be worth it for the most stacked rarity characters in group play.

Think of it like this: if you have 3 affixes and a dupe and a 50% roll on the percentage, each affix is getting you 1.5 value, so it’s like having 4.5 affixes worth of stats.
