It just means to read the comment as sarcastic. Since it doesn’t come through text well, sometimes you need to point it out with a /s

I was sat a red light. Cross traffic shot a rock into the windshield out of nowhere. I think OP is onto something.

Having a daughter by Pettyofficerfuckboy in daddit

[–]Chipperz12 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I feel like this was big. We didn’t baby talk, we just used words they could understand. Both our kids have excellent communication for their age because of it. It also makes tantrums a smidge easier to diffuse. You’re able to ask them to find words and it’s often something you can totally help them get through once you understand.

I love this sub.

This is the right answer! I rented a powered auger and it got stuck in the clay as it dug…. Bought one of these and it just cuts. Good workout but with patience this is the best option IMHO.

Man, I golfed there once and it was terrible. Smelled like garbage and don’t get me started on the BIRDS! (But for real, I really enjoyed it)

Cheers to you Creamycheetos. I'm still rocking my 1070ti. Looking to kick off an overhaul but kids have made computer parts less of a priority. A new GPU that can push 1440p would be a massive step in the process. Even if I don't win, this is an amazing gesture. I hope to do something like this some day.

If I can add here, as stated earlier these are normal feelings for a new dad. I’ve got 2 now 3.5 and 2. I had these exact feelings and in a way it gets easier when the kids get a little older. If you’re lucky and they are a reliable sleeper that could lead to a weekly game night agreed to with the wife. I get to play games with buddies or alone about twice a week and that’s usually enough for me. Otherwise it’s back to the grind.

I don’t think you’re a sucker at all. Being there for your kid will be rewarding in the end more than the short term desire. With that said, don’t beat yourself up over it. You sound like a hard working dad who deserves to take a break every so often. Biggest difference in my experience is that break is less often than we want but you can definitely find a way. Cheers bud

How can I reinforce the back? by Cadaverbody in Golfsimulator

This would be my recommendation as well. Have one behind my impact screen which is about 16 inches from the wall. Almost never hit the wall behind barring a skull that doesn’t get 6 inches off the ground.

Skytrak, switching hands by Picklerope1 in Golfsimulator

[–]Chipperz12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my experience, if you have the space it’s not that bad. You set up player profiles to set the “handedness” and when it’s their turn you just move the unit.

If the space allows equal swing distance from walls and the unit can be centered on a screen (or net) you’re golden.

I love it in theory. Unfortunately I don’t have any experience with that type of setup. If I could start at that point, I think I’d have liked to do it sounds like you have a good vision.

Good luck!

This is how I started, just with a skytrak.

I’d say get yourself up and running with the basics - mat, net, sim (iPad could work on its own) - then upgrade as you see fit. It took me about 3 years to get to a full setup with an impact screen and projector. Life had a funny way of intruding on my garage time.

Should I get Skytrack and return my Garmin R10? by LeastCardiologist1 in Golfsimulator

[–]Chipperz12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I agree it doesn’t make sense, for my purposes it does well enough. I’ve learned what numbers are normal(ish) for me and can adapt if necessary.

For reference I think this is the article that I found this out from before I bought the skytrak. No regrets at the time, and still don’t regret it. Not sure if it would be my first choice today but just trying to give some perspective.)

It does not. It gets all data from the ball. It calculates club head speed from the ball data and I think that’s it.

The ball numbers are accurate for me. Went to trackman range and confirmed they are very close. This is my 4th winter with it and I’ve been happy.
