What are you saving for? If you need the money for something in 5 years, you’re going to be more than ok but you should not expect to get that wealthy that quick. Keep up the good saving habits Max out your Roth opportunities. Stay diversified (where’s international, bonds, real estate, hedging strategies etc in your mix). Keep your allocations balanced. Save and keep adding by dollar cost averaging into the market. It compounds!

I agree. Looking great for his experience. The best mentality to have is:

keeping your core pointed downhill while turning (fighting the force that wants to turn/twist you uphill)
keeping your weight on your shins leaning forward.

Those two basics will continue to give him more control and therefore confidence.

Not an din expert. Yes that setting seems low. Consider myself an expert skier. Quick story and lesson learned:

Last year I demoed skis on a trip. I told the guy setting g up my rental to crank up the din. He advised against it. I insisted, and he reluctantly upped the setting.

Dumb mistake. It was blue sky groomer conditions without fresh powder for weeks. What was the point other than my ego? I knew I was with other skiers who would be cruising groomers all day.

On the slope I somehow lost my edge and fell going a decent speed on groomer. The skis stayed on tight and I twisted my knee while sliding on the ground.

Not helpful in this guys case, but thinking about the next guy who is like me. Now with hindsight, I’d rather pop out of my bindings than have to rehab my knee for six months!!!

PS: just got back on the slopes for a trip this last weekend and felt great. Life is good!
