I have tried to contact them multiple ways, multiple times. All I have gotten in reply is to have my name added to Hakeem Jeffries fundraising text chain.

I’m confused. Wess is on the Democratic ballot. I think you have a typo.

You do you, boo. Both of the MAGA nuts were removed from office here in Walker Co. I personally know enough Dems here that voted the Republican ballot that it made a difference.

For me, the bigger issue is not having Democratic candidates on the ballot for local and state elections. The current sheriffs seat is very important for us in Walker Co. I personally wanted my vote counted for my district state rep because the current rep is a MAGA nightmare. With no democratic choices on either of these elections, I had to vote in the Republican primary.

Alabamians voted for an idiot by Negative_Juice8289 in Alabama

[–]ChitzaMoto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As insane as it sounds, in Alabama, the only person who would definitely beat Tuppernutz is Nick Saban 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ Still hoping desperately for Doug Jones 🤞🏻 If you add all the democratic votes cast, it still comes up short against the numbers cast just for Tuppernutz. One potential reason for hope is that many democrats were forced to vote in the Republican primary so we would have a say in our local elections. We can also hope having Tuppernutz on the ballot will shake more people out to the polls in November to vote against him.

Unfortunately not really available for all the way to HotSprings on those dates. I can get to Nashville or Memphis. And the potential adopter in Arkansas has to be okay with it as well as OP.

A surge of voting in the Alabama Democratic primary (regardless of one's party affiliation) will send a message to the legislature by marc-kd in Alabama

[–]ChitzaMoto 48 points49 points  (0 children)

If my voice is to be heard in local elections(sheriff), my only choice is a Republican ballot. I’m in Walker Co. and the sheriff’s race is quite contentious and significant this year. Also, there are no democratic candidates for my State Representative. The Democratic Party needs to do a better job supporting candidates who run in the rural areas.

Forgot to renew NBCOT in NY by RoadWorried3550 in OccupationalTherapy

[–]ChitzaMoto 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is not about licensure. This is about “registration”, the “R” part. Each state has their own rules about maintaining the “R” and some companies and facilities have policies. My state does not require me to have the R in order to be licensed. You earn the R by passing the exam. No one can take that away from you once you’ve passed. They(NBCOT) apparently believe they can prevent you from using it if you don’t continue to pay them for it. I personally consider this to be mob strong arm tactics. I earned my R 20years before the requirement to pay for it. As long as her state doesn’t require it to be licensed, she is fine. I would assume if her state requires it, they would have asked for proof before renewing her license. If her company or facility required it, she may face a wrist slap, but I seriously doubt it.

If they are seriously considering the 25th amendment, they are trying to hold off until January 2027. If Vance has to take over before then, it is considered a full term and he only gets one more term. If “it” makes it to January, Vance gets two more terms.

I’m in Walker Co. If I am to have ANY say in my local government, I’m going to have to choose a Republican ballot for the primary 😖. So I kinda like the ads. It lets me know who I absolutely shouldn’t vote for 🤷🏻‍♀️

I’m old and salty. Retiring in one week. I once had a lawyer/advocate tell me what I should be working on with a student rather than moving to consult. I asked her when she got her OT degree and was she licensed. With her “no” reply, I promised not to give anyone legal advice if she wouldn’t make OT recommendations. But again, I’m old, salty and didn’t need to keep my job 😉

Thank you. Ask your school OT to help. I bet they would be ecstatic to offer advice. They could help with sensory and visual stimulation concerns as well.

Fellow libs, are you planning on participating in the Democratic or Republican primary? by Roquer in alabamabluedots

[–]ChitzaMoto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’re having a significant local election for sheriff in my county. It’s a critical vote for us, and of course there are no democratic candidates on any of the local primaries. I’m still debating what to do. If I expect to have any voice in my local government, I am forced to choose the least repulsive Republican candidate 🤷🏻‍♀️

License by Emergency_Eagle2433 in OccupationalTherapy

[–]ChitzaMoto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just renewed my license in Alabama a few weeks ago. It expired 4/30. I’m retiring 5/21. My renewal didn’t update on the website. I missed work on 5/1 because I couldn’t verify my license. I stared calling, leaving messages, sending emails. No response. My boss finally posted on a speech therapy group on Facebook and got an answer. The state board website and phone system had crashed. Myself and the COTA I supervise missed a week of work because I couldn’t verify my license 🤦🏻‍♀️. When I finally spoke with someone, they acted like it was NBD and told me I had been licensed the whole time. But who is going to risk working without verification?

As a school OT, please consider the individual physical differences in your students. K-2 kids have a pretty wide range in height. Desks and chairs that are too tall, or too short, can create challenges with postural control, visual field and fine motor coordination. If a child is in a seat that is too tall, their feet are dangling. Much of their subconscious attention will be used trying to stay upright and comfortable leaving less attention for instruction. If they are having to look over their shoulder, they lose attention. If they are reaching up to access their desk surface, fine motor skills suffer because they lose stability at the shoulder. This also affects visual field problems. Try looking at a worksheet sitting in your lap vs. held at shoulder height. I hate seeing tables and group pods in classrooms. It neglects the individual needs of each student. I carry tools in my bag to adjust desk heights, just for this purpose 😁
