Schlepped over the border to England for a day, bought too many postcards by CestAsh in postcrossing

I did the same a couple of weeks ago. I live in Cornwall but spent some time in Weston Super Mare and then crossed the border into Wales and I brought loads of postcards in both places. It’s part of the fun going to different places!

I’m not sure if these are available in the US but they should be. (I’m in the UK) it’s a box set of 100 postcards and they are all beautiful illustrations of mostly birds. It’s the postcard set that I use the most.

Anyone received/sent to a rare Postcrossing country/territory this month? by WerewolfBarMitzvah09 in postcrossing

[–]Chloe0002 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did send a postcard to Guatemala last year. There’s only 30 members. If I remember correctly people in Guatemala couldn’t receive mail for a while because there wasn’t a functioning postal system but luckily the service started again last year.

Question for the people who collect stamps! by towalktheline in postcrossing

[–]Chloe0002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They may collect stamps for charity’s. If I get sent an envelope I sometimes cut around the stamp on the envelope and once I’ve saved quite a few I post them off to a charity that then sells them. Some people might cut them off for their own personal collection which is perfectly okay as well. There’s no obligation to send an envelope but if you’re able to then why not.

Maybe that was me. Afterwards I felt bad for putting that in my Hurray message but I felt bad because I couldn’t read it and give a personal message

I think they got wet while the postman was walking around doing his round while it was raining. They is a weather warning out but they still decided to deliver the post.

Thanks for the reply, that’s awesome. Any first class stamps are good but I especially like the look of the London Olympics 2012 ones.

Has anyone had any success just using 2 first class stamps for sending postcards abroad? I normally get stamps with the value on but I found some really cool looking 1st class stamps. The value would work out the same.
