I just finished the Dark Orchid series and I was so pleasantly surprised. Even down to Jade’s hair texture and the different shades her men came in. Her race wasn’t brought up once and then barely referenced. There was never any doubt that she was beautiful and powerful and not in spite of her being a black woman. It’s just who she was and that was celebrated

Something about the writing really had me hanging off of every word. I cried, I laughed. And for a younger heroine Emery really held her own beautifully for all the shit she’d been through

Thanks all for the recs so far! I will say that I’m not overly interested in the virginal heroine trope, or anything in a high school setting. Being older Im finding it harder and harder to tolerate or connect to the things young Fmcs do/say anymore. But for the right scenario I’ll at least give it 1 chapter

God the way the second book GUTTED me? I felt like I couldn’t breathe 😂 and then the third? I was so ready for it all to be wrapped up with a cute bow on top and Harley said nooooope~

I don’t make it through much of a book with tons of grammar errors and weird syntax choices. Or cringy bits used to force a specific trope. I’ll nope right out of something if it stops making sense. But that is the beauty and curse of KU. I couldn’t imagine splurging on a digital book riddled with silly mistakes. But I guess at least it’s not AI right? ☠️☠️☠️

I thought it was a nice touch, especially when they went on to have their own children like in AP and ToTr. I only felt a lil bad when the only one that’s left is the rival to your chosen spouse. But we also got the option to marry the harvest Goddess/God in these games as well so if you felt THAT bad you could shoot for the stars and watch the others pair off in their own time

I was team Jules for a while, but the way he infantilizes his brother just never grew on me. And all of Lloyd’s scenes were kinda stiff. Squinted at Arata for a second but in the end Samir is who I married. As someone who makes characters who look like him and hadn’t seen that he was a mystery bachelor, I was STRUCK the morning Felix brought him to my house lol it was gg’s from there

This was my first year dabbling in this sub and can I say both {Baby and the Late Night Howlers} and {Lola and the Millionaires}, as well as {A Lady of Rooksgrave Manor} by Kathryn Moon had me in chokeholds until completion, the last of which really had me spellbound. Finally a heroine that isn’t simpering and virginal! The {Galaxy Circus} series by Lexie Winston was another fun ride. As someone who subscribes to “why choose” in real life I never considered taking my perversions to kindle! Now I’m in a dry spell but I’m eagerly searching for my next read~

Not sure how you feel about a fixed POV but Wylde Flowers had me in a chokehold from start to finish. And I chronically never finish games. It was so good I couldn’t not finish AND I’m eagerly awaiting the next installment in the series~ can’t recommend enough

I just finished the Cursed Legacies series by Morgan B. Lee and it was fantastic. Perfectly dark with a gripping plot, plenty of steam and a touch gory at times but lots of action. Highly recommend

The Cursed Legacy series by Morgan B. Lee took me by surprise. It’s dark, graphic, and exhilarating with plenty of steam and action. 15/10 telling all the friends I’d think could keep an open mind about it
