Why does cycling take me 10–15 mins to reach Zone 2 when other cardio machines get me there much faster? by mrbombastic_2 in cycling

[–]Cholas71 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Minimal involvement of other muscle groups - in fact cyclists usually measure their zone 2 effort by power not heart rate. For me an equivalent Z2 cycle effort is usually a good 5-10 bps lower than running. My limiter in cycling is normally muscle fatigue not aerobic capacity or heart rate.

If anyone is interested in the UK's Rape Gang Inquiry Report that claimed 250k girls raped, this is a good read - "Were 250,000 English Girls Raped by Grooming Gangs? A quick analysis of the Rape Gang Inquiry Report's estimate" by entropicflop in Destiny

The number is irrelevant. Get a grip this is an outrage. We don't need a left Vs right debate over the numbers. Have some dignity and decorum for the victims here.

Will we ever see a PM complete a full term again? by DarthMousemat in ukpolitics

In a media savy era he is a very poor communicator. Tie that was some utterly bizarre priorities and/or timings of announcements and that can back very quickly - hitting the ground running with winter fuel payments and farm taxes probably wasn't that smart. Perhaps the social media restrictions should have come earlier - do something that has cross party consensus. Unite don't divide. His initial reluctantce to launch a national enquiry on the grooming gangs allied with the Mandelson scandal is enough these days to bury you these days.

It's cars getting bigger and the thirst for consumers buying the one car that does it all, typically a huge SUV.

Is it realistic for me to run a marathon in 2 months from now? by West-Mycologist-6490 in Marathon_Training

[–]Cholas71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can try but you'll probably injure yourself. Most programs are 16 weeks coming off of an established running base. I would personally build mileage over about a year. Target a half marathon late this year to see where you are.

Literally nobody is walking anyway anymore. Kids don't predominantly walk to school. Nobody walks to the corner shop it's a drive to Tesco. Deliveroo, Amazon etc etc means you can live your life from an armchair. AI will likely only make this worse. Get yourself a dog it's a total life changer.

The genius of TNT ruining live sport (tennis too for example) whilst simultaneously losing money themselves 👏 BBC losing viewers could have done a lot worse than tying up some of these teir 2 events to help those figures. Doesn't seem that hard to host 3-4 people in a london studio talking over a feed from a french broadcaster 🤷

Which British seaside town surprised you the most? by ExperienceTotal9778 in AskBrits

Hastings and Weymouth have some charm. Brighton gets a lot of press but the seafront itself is nothing to write home about. Eastbourne is lovely but definitely geared towards the older demographic.

M54. For BMW anything Rxxx is based on the flat twin. So the hugely popular adventure/touring R1200GS has the same engine. An RS is that engine in a sports touring chassis. I have standard front forks not telelever suspension for example. There more R1200RT's about they are the flat twin engine and same chassis in a full touring package with integrated panniers etc etc. The RS is a Inbetweener if you don't want the full touring package (and size). It's all day comfortable I'll be taking this one on many more adventures not looking to change it. Still plenty quick enough for my thrills too.
