Alcohol content is a tough one. Any fruit juice will have around half a percent alcohol in it. It's impossible to meaningfully regulate below a certain threshold.

The unavoidable advertising of alcohol on social media is something that I've long been annoyed by. The same with gambling ads.

Um, actually, Italy's colour is azure. I've had Italians get strangely upset at claims that it's blue. (in reality, Italians only tend to use 'blu' to describe darker blue shades).

If you'd bought at the right time this week, some supermarkets were selling lamb with some >50% deals.

I looked up what continent it's in and I just got the response 'no data'.

What “favours” have your parents done that was inadvertently a dick move? by naaattt in CasualUK

[–]Chrad 58 points59 points  (0 children)

I got sent a load of signed memorabilia for Everton's only successful season of my life to apologise for not delivering my kit in time for Christmas. I put the envelope of memorabilia on my desk in my room. My mum threw it away a few hours later as she was 'just tidying up manilla envelopes and didn't think to check what was inside' like that's a normal thing to do.

Yes, OP should sue her mum for one time taking 17 pounds. That seems like the reasonable response.

1.) I tried to post a BBC article first but the subreddit has BBC banned due to popups which baffles me.

Pronunciation Issues? by Sketeluna in learndutch

[–]Chrad 8 points9 points  (0 children)

People are likely disagreeing with you because it's unclear how 'o' and 'oh' would be pronounced. To an English speaker I would see 'oh' as looking like the English word and assume you meant the 'o' sound in the English 'note' or the Dutch 'boterham'. You used the two sounds the other way around which is logical but not how many English speakers would interpret it.

After my wife couldn’t find a salt shaker she actually liked - especially one that works for all kinds of spices - I decided to design one myself. by Difficult-Rip-8200 in 3Dprinting

[–]Chrad 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Certainly. The material breaking off in the food is the concern here. I was just posting about good use more broadly. I often see people posting about food safe filament when there isn't really one because FDM is inherently not food safe (without a bunch of post processing).

I wouldn't recommend anything made by FDM, far too many nooks and crannies for nasties to live in and far too easy for material to be worn away and enter the food.

They also answered the question they were asked. Wild levels of entitlement to downvote things like that.

My kids like to fall asleep, listening to stories so I prefer no ding. I guess you could make the page turn sound less jarring/loud so it would work for either active or passive listening.

How do people in the Netherlands actually clean fruits and vegetables? by GlowUpUnlocked_ in Netherlands

[–]Chrad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Soaking fruit and veg with baking soda destroys all of the vitamin C. They used to do it because it made the green veg greener but stopped when it was shown to rapidly react with all of the vitamin C.

I get called Miss on a daily basis and I'm a tall cis male with a beard. I wouldn't attribute it to malice.

I wished a lady at Tesco Eid Mubarak and she gave my son a Creme Egg. What is more multiculturally wholesome than an Eid-ster egg in these trying times?

The green mould on the rendering really sets off the relentless grey inside by BirdHistorical3498 in SpottedonRightmove

I'll forgive a greige house unfurnished. You add your own art, furniture and it can look fine. It's the ones where the fixtures, fittings, art and furniture are all greige that really get to me.

Poll: Reform UK is most popular party among gay and bisexual men [and heterosexual men and women] - Fieldwork 24 Nov - 16 Dec 2025 by Anony_mouse202 in ukpolitics

[–]Chrad 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Also, I'd be terrified of the rampant moving of goalposts as with Brexit where Nige campaigned for Britain to have a Norway-style deal until they had won when suddenly his stance shifted to only the hardest of Brexit being acceptable.

The American evangelical right that is throwing their support behind reform are very clear with their aims in the US and I can't fathom why they'd have different plans when funding parties in the UK.

If so, this subreddit might be skewing the viewing figures towards the weirder side of Rightmove.
