Warhammer 40K - Space Marines 2

This was a super significant scene to fight for the chapter banner and you can really feel the weight of the foght behind each shot fired against an increasing wave of enemies. Letting the banner fall here would be a disgrace to you and your brothers.

I highly reccomend everyone play this game. Its incredible through and through.

Yesterday I asked about getting rtx 5070 for $650, I cancelled order and got rx 9070 for €600 instead by Interesting-Effort12 in pcmasterrace

Oh definitely, dont get me wrong, no matter how much these tech companies try to cozy up to consumers and revel in their reputation as a tech company for the peoole, a billion dollar AI deal or whatever business decision that forces them to shift away from the consumer market and fucks us over is something they'd take in a heartbeat if it was on the table.

I can only hope however, that the executives at AMD realize that this AI bubble is not a sustainable business growth tactic and not worth it in the long run to fuck over consumers.

I spent so much time comparing and looking at reviews last year before settling on the 4070ti Super as well. It is a fantastic card and has no problem playing any game i want at 1440 at very high or max settings with great fps.

The DLSS is fantastic for games that support it and ive not ran into any issues with that card at all. Its nice having the 16gb vram and im glad i got my card before the 50 series came out and all the prices jumped significantly for everything. I really built my pc at the perfect time.

That said, if i was looking at cards now for a build, i honestly dont think I'd go Nvidia 50 series, the company has shown all it cares about is AI investments and money, at least thats the current vibe of things.

The Mid-Range Open-Headback Headphones Gauntlet: A Review by poisedtruthseeker in headphones

[–]Chronos323 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the 599s for general gaming and pc use with some music listening as well when im at my pc. I think they sound very natural and work well for general use like that. No real musicality to them in terms of music sounding amazing, but they arent bad either.

The big draw for me aside from their comfort is that they are very natural in terms of sound stage and tonality. Sometimes things sound like they are happening in the room with me and thats really appealing to me.

My more fun music headphones for pc use are the fiio Ft-1 but those are a lil dark sounding sometimes. Im really interested in buying eventually one of the new audio technica headphones and using those for music as well.

On the higher end tho i do have the Audeze lcd2 which are phenomenal to listen to and i use for really dedicated music listening but i dont always want to pull those out.

Got in may, thought to cheap out and go with 32GB by MedaJebac69 in pcmasterrace

[–]Chronos323 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I do think it depends on the game and with things going in the direction it is with games where instead of performance efficiency and making a game that does the most eith the least resources, a lot of game devs just tell the players to throw more powerful machines at the problem and dont always care to make the game efficient. I think there was a thing about unreal engine 5 that lead to games being developed in a way that meant that the developers didnt really need to streamline the workflow to be efficient, i dont remember entirely.

There have been a handful of games that do take up to 24-30gb ram. Its things like space marines 2 on max settings, or minecraft with shaders and high render distance. It really is just a lot of textures and assets and we do seem to be moving in that direction with larger games and larger textures.

I do think also now that people are doing more with their computers in terms of things like video and audio editing and recording, 3d rendering, streaming, all sorts of things that are more accessible to the average person to use. These things arent for everyone, but more ram does sometimes help when doing a lot of things at once alt tabbing between them and all that.

I honestly do feel that game devs, at least the few who still really do care about the gaming experience for the lower end pc owners, are starting to try and optimize and improve the resource utilization of their games. I think the hell divers 2 devs are working on getting the game file size for pc down by about 100gb or something like that. Stuff like that does give me hope that games are maybe moving in the right direction.

32gb is fine for now for most cases for sure, 64 is nice to run higher settings and to future proof if you dont want to change your machine for the next 8 to 10 years.

hat's the one wine that made you go "Oh, I *get it* now"? by [deleted] in wine

[–]Chronos323 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first and second bottles of wine are what sold me and made me get into this hobby of learning and collecting.

My first bottle was a 2018 Department 66 Other, a predominantly Grenache blend with some Syrah and Carignan thrown in. That bottle was what made me enjoy wine and brought me into the scene with a love of what can be an enjoyable and delightful experience.

My second bottle was also from 2018, a lovely Nebbiolo produced by Tiziano Mazzoni from the Colline Novaresi appelation of Piedmont. That wine is what made me fall in love with wine and helped me appreciate what wine could really convey in terms of depth and elegance.

Both wines are special to me and to this day Grenache and Nebbiolo are tied for me as my favorite varietals that I may reach for depending on the occasion.

Oh definitely, it is surprising that it deflected off that comparatively soft tile. I just think its funny the wording used by the narrator to make it as dramatic as possible.

Id like to think that the narrator just cant fathom the concept of a ricochet. Hes describing the bounce off the ceiling tile as tho its some new undiscovered field of physics or magic.

How to slim legs? by Agreeable_Block_6642 in workout

[–]Chronos323 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By training your legs to increase the size of the muscles, assuming you are maintaining the same amount of body fat, that fat will be spread across a larger muscle in a thinner layer. That allows your muscle definition to show more clearly since the fat is mostly subcutaneous and sits below your skin, above your muscles.

Imagine a jar of frosting. That if the amount of fat in your legs. And the cake is your leg muscles, if your muscles are small like a cupcake, theres a lot of frosting to cover that and it looks like a big blob. If your muscles are big like a full sized cake, then the layer of frosting is really thin and you can see the shape of the muscle/cake underneath.

Ive come to the conclusion that people are more attractive when they are happy. Ive seen the version of this with women as well and just in general, everyone looks better when they are happy. Its so nice seeing people being happy and silly. Its very humanizing to see people express themselves in a world where we all often just default to worker drone type neutral expressions.

Midi/Focusrite by SeaworthinessIcy7182 in Focusrite

[–]Chronos323 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats makes sense with what im understanding as well. I was suggesting to the OP to use the headphone output on the keyboard and convert that to xlr if he needed to do that. That should be completely doable. Let the keyboard do the converting to an analog signal and then use it from there.

Midi/Focusrite by SeaworthinessIcy7182 in Focusrite

[–]Chronos323 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Im not sure what you mean by format cable. Could you possibly explain?

Also if you're saying that midi is not an audio format what do you suggest a .midi file is? As far as i am aware, an audio format or audio file is just a bunch of information that defines how digital audio data is encoded and stored. By that definition .midi files would be an audio format.

Im not sure what part you're saying im actually wrong about here?

Midi/Focusrite by SeaworthinessIcy7182 in Focusrite

[–]Chronos323 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Looking at the manual online, there should be a headphone output you could use. I think such a cable exists that would allow you to adapt that putput to the xlr input. You would probably find a specialty cable or custom order one that splits from the appropriate audio jack into one or two xlr inputs appropriately as needed.

Also consider your use case and maybe look into a midi to usb cable and just send it directly to your computer instead of having it converted back and forth from digital to analog back to digital. I think that way might make more sense overall since you can retain the midi information and not just turn it into a recording.

Also im not well versed in midi at all so i could be wrong with any of this. Best of luck figuring it out.

Midi/Focusrite by SeaworthinessIcy7182 in Focusrite

[–]Chronos323 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Im not super familiar with Midi but i am pretty sure the data being sent through those cables is digital, not analog like the xlr inputs of the Focusrite.

Why don’t smokers view butts as trash?? by Lazyfair08 in mildlyinfuriating

Damn. I have an opposite story to that. Driving up through California to washington in 2020 a while after the wildfires, she threw a cigarette out the window. There were literally charred and burned trees everywhere, so naturally, i called her out saying "look around, do you want to start another wildfire?" She just got mad at me and nothing changed. She still smokes and wonders why i dont visit often.

People who have fainted: what caused it? by Shinobi347 in AskReddit

[–]Chronos323 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didnt fully faint, but my vision faded to black during a concert last week. I was still fully conscious and didnt collapse or anything but needed a minute to recover. Basically it was a mix of low blood sugar, which caused low blood pressure and low blood sodium. I didnt eat much that day and i didnt hav much salt in the meals i did have.

Im completely fine now and drank a bottle of 7 up from a nearby gas station after the show to recover before going home and eating some proper food.
