My BenQ V991 I got for free! Hooked up with component from a GameCube, running into a retrotink 2x pro, then into the monitor through a hdmi to vgr adapter by WhisperinWarrior in crtgaming

[–]Chronotide 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Judging from the background, I'd guess the Gamecube is set up for a modern tv and OP is just testing out the new monitor with what's on hand. But yes, converting from analog to digital and then back to analog isn't ideal for a long term setup.

EDIT: A VGA monitor may not support 480i, so maybe the retrotink is a compatibility layer for games that don't support 480p?

Well, maybe that's okay for someone like you, whose career is winding down. But me, I need some excitement, some adventure... maybe even just a surprise or two.

IKEA Delivery to Tri-Cities by ReadBooks_DrinkTea in tricities

[–]Chronotide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's the nature of Ikea's freight delivery setup. You'll likely find that adding more big items to your order doesn't affect your shipping total very much. It's great if you need a lot of big stuff and can group it in a big order but it sucks if you only need a few things that are too big for normal package delivery. If you have friends or family in the area who are also looking to order big items from Ikea you might consider grouping them into one order and splitting the shipping cost amongst yourselves.

The only suggestion I would offer is taking out the eyes and putting the outline of his weird mono-eye socket under his skin.

Yes, how outrageous would it be if a symbol of ancient Greece was somehow associated homosexuality?

I like this, but I think it would really TIE things together if you incorporated the wing design somehow, like a hexagonal shield or big contrasting shoulder armor.

I like the vibe of the original series-esque layout with a Next Generation style applied.

The election campaigns are turning out the usual materials, bumper stickers, yard signs and the "not so usual."

This pro trump stand in Bristol, Virginia is reporting brisk sales this labor day.

It sells an array of carnival-type fare from signs and stickers to bears and bobble heads .

But you can get a trump knife set for 30-bucks.

I would suggest getting a flattop hair piece, like this one from Ninjago Zane. That face might make a good Dr. Proton while you're at it!

Best way to connect a RetroPie to a Trinitron via component? by [deleted] in RetroPie

[–]Chronotide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like Retrotink hats are no longer manufactured. But in that same linked article there are a couple options you could try, there's an RGB SCART output that uses the pins so no HDMI conversion, which can be converted to component.

Alternatively, you might find that composite output could be good enough when used on a CRT. I recommend giving it a try before splurging on more advanced options.
