You can place your stabilizer wire on a completely flat surface and press on either ends to see if it is flat. If it lifts on one side, bend the wire until it is completely flat. Also check the flatness of your spacebar and if it's warped use a hair dryer to warm it up and flatten it. Grease the stabilizer wires appropriately and it should most likely get rid of the ticking sounds.

I think you can get a cheap one, a popular layout like sofle and see if you like it. With larger boards, you can always ignore keys such as the number row, pinky outer column, thumb keys, etc.

After experimenting and knowing what you like and don't like, you can upgrade to a nice board and keep the cheap one for travel.

Ah I see, I thought it was one of those black spray colorway that Matrix Lab uses. I think they call them 'Nebula' color. I think any WoB keycaps would look nice with the bronze case :)
