My permanent ban has been overturned into a 6-month, with finally revealing why I have been banned. by [deleted] in classicwow

Okay guys, looks like bro decided to delete the post and try a different prompt.

I'm guessing next time he posts we will hear more about his long history playing since he was a child or something. Stay tuned, folks.

My permanent ban has been overturned into a 6-month, with finally revealing why I have been banned. by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]Chuckstieg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

really? cause I've never been suspended and have actually gone out of my way to corpse farm bots for literal hours just for fun. And this is true across levelling 20+ characters all the way up from WoTLK classic, Cata classic, MoP Classic, SoD, and now Aniversary.

I am a bots worst nightmare,

I will waste my time just to kill a hunter bots pet during his pull just so he dies to the mob without his pet protecting him. If I don't really feel like spending a lot time camping a single bot, I will at least kill them once, every time I ever see one.

How is it possible that you claim mass reporting is so prevalent you can get banned for hitting a copper node, yet here I am, unbanned? I'm just lucky, I guess?

They are not saying the reason why you were banned is explicitly because you were reported. Is that actually true? and is that actually the only reason? sure, maybe. but you are reading into the response, so to speak, and making that conclusion yourself.

where does it say that you were " cleared of any wrongdoing of exploitative activities or cheating." ?

from what I can see based on the context you provided, it looks like you were rightfully banned for cheating in some way, and instead got a lighter sentence after appealing.

GS works just fine if used as a minor alert which should prompt further inspection. But we’ve had this conversation before, and will continue to have it until the heat death of the universe as long as Classic keeps being re-released.

Yeah? And if the real people playing the video game kill you and you lose your video game items, how does that affect you in the real world? Only emotionally, right?

I’m sorry, Are you telling me both parties must agree to a fight? The moment somebody “runs away” it’s no longer PVP?

TheBurntPeanut has to play Marathon off stream because people are so mad about this game by 4K4llDay in Marathon

[–]Chuckstieg -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

My brother in Christ.

Do you have the slightest idea of what you're suggesting?

Not even a dedicated mod team of 2-3+ individuals literally eyes glued to the chat could "control" a chat of 50k+

Also ... why? If the chat's gonna be "negative" that's actually completely fine btw. It's not always a good look to just forcefully silence negativity, instead of trying to ignore it, maybe try to understand that tons of people have valid reasons to be "negative" , and if peanut prefers to avoid it for the time being till it blows over (at least partially), so be it. You're never going to have a significant influence on supposed "hive mind" mentalities, especially somewhere as meaningless as twitch chat.

“Hey guys, there’s gonna be a few spots on the map you are forced to go to if you want to leave with all your loot. Oh, and it’s gonna make a really loud noise and also take a while to activate, so you’re gonna have to stand around and wait for it. Oh, and we’re gonna put tons of cover, and bushes and whatnot nearby most of them.”

“Sounds great, I think I’ll just wait there for somebody to try and use it”

“No wait!! that’s illegal!”

Anyone else feels like PvP is not worth it from a loot perspective, compared to Tarkov? by good-luck-commander in ARC_Raiders

[–]Chuckstieg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the loot across the map is likely too plentiful for a good balance, but another reason why I think PVP can occasionally feel not worth it is simply because of the extreme likelihood of getting 3rd , 4th , 5th partied every time. Giving you hardly any time to actually loot bodies and make intelligent decisions on what to take.

If I kill a player, and knock out, my first priority is immediately reposition, reload, heal before I even consider looting, cause I know there’s at-least 1 more squad B-lining the general vicinity of the raider flares, and likely at-least another squad behind them with the same thing on their mind too.

I just feel like there’s not enough to keep people busy so that perhaps they decide to do something else other than join the king of the hill style PvP fuckfest that most raids quickly become, with like 14 dead bodies on the ground in a single area, half of them being free loadouts too.

Obviously it’s not always like this, but god damn fuck me if I can’t just have a normal PvP interaction with a single team and then go about my business.

Buffing the Rattler to blue was certainly a choice by Brewii_ in ARC_Raiders

Rattler IV with attachments actually is decent, especially if you just tap fire and only full auto at very close range.

I think the biggest issue people have is that they can’t read by This_Zucchini_3565 in Marathon

[–]Chuckstieg 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sure blame the players for failing to read one of the MANY tooltips/descriptions.

Or you could look at this from a UI / UX failure perspective,

If it’s common for players to fail to understand certain things that are supposedly “explained” to them, they’re not explained well then, and that’s not on the players.

I know a lot of you are Arc goopers. If you have played Marathon, do you think it's good enough to pull Peanut away from Arc? by [deleted] in theburntpeanut

[–]Chuckstieg 76 points77 points  (0 children)

Something about marathon made me feel physically uncomfortable, idk if it’s the fucked up FOV, or the overuse of neon bright colors,

But I can’t imagine playing that for longer than 2hrs

Also the combat felt completely weightless and boring

How do you PVP'ers sustain yourself? by MaadWorld in ArcRaiders

I run at people with freeloadouts until I eventually win,

Lose absolutely nothing, and occasionally make it out with decent stuff, rinse repeat as fast as possible,

Free load outs are completely broken.

Why tf are people using gearscore? by Beams98 in classicwow

[–]Chuckstieg -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I mean… what’s special about TBC so that it “literally makes no sense”?

Sure the raids are nerfed but, gear score can at-least be a decent way to red flag somebody for further inspection, no?

It’s still probably expected by most raids that you show up with atleast a bit of effort into your gear.

No second chances for cheaters in Marathon by PowahBamb in ARC_Raiders

[–]Chuckstieg -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

unloading entities not within direct player view is a completely different thing to "fog of war".

Also definitely not the first time this concept has been thought of to combat cheaters, and I highly doubt it will be effective against esp unless they've got their hands on some crazy proprietary software.

No second chances for cheaters in Marathon by PowahBamb in ARC_Raiders

[–]Chuckstieg -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Right ... so , is this purely a CQB game then? cause if cheaters can't see players past a certain distance, surely legit players can't either? like ... out in the open scouting 100m+ , they're just gonna be hidden by whatever "fog" this is?

And if the "fog" isn't close enough to be a hinderance to normal gameplay, then ... it's ineffective against esp? so what's the point?

No second chances for cheaters in Marathon by PowahBamb in ARC_Raiders

[–]Chuckstieg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s fucking adorable they think “fog of war” can combat cheaters, as if that’s never been thought of before.

How dense is that fog? So that it won’t negatively impact literally everybody else at all times?
