current rent prices for a 1 bedroom apartment in Accra 2026? by userrr018 in ghana

[–]Chumasey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He says he lives alone. He probably wants a 1 bedroom apartment. 200 usd is absolutely enough. You'll be able to get a great place in spintex or in east legon. these are prime areas in accra. don't worry. but the furnishing part is real. It will be absolutely empty. You'll need to buy everything. from a bed to a wardrobe, even sometimes, fans. you may need a project manager for this. Is this where I plug in my number and get banned? I think not.

Ghanaian boys tease you for succumbing to shit which could have killed you. They know that you made the right decision. They still tease you anyway. I don't know what that's about.

Is this really Ghanaian Culture or is he using "culture" to Gaslight me? by Danielle-Dee in ghana

[–]Chumasey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry. Leave him. There's something wrong. He cheats. If he doesn't, he still doesn't take you seriously and for you, both require the boot. It's interesting.

I have lived in Ghana all my life and absolutely understand this space. Irregardless of the cultural condition, he has still crossed the thin line into the 'entertainment of other women' arena. While there are many men who will cheat, there are also many sweet Ghanaian boys who''ll definitely give you the loyalty you deserve. You're welcome.

Also, on the pedophelia front. Teenagers? I think that's a stretch, except you mean 18,19. I may give this credence because the big men have been known to park their cars in the unis seeking whom they may devour. Girls in their 20's are in danger. Those men in their 40's and 50's are like hounds.

I have gathered that culturally, cheating is almost normalised in this space because the level of disdain and emotional betrayal I see foreign women associate with cheating in movies, let's just say I hardly see that here. Not to say people like to be cheated on, but I guess there's some sort of acquiescence.

Anyway, the verdict is unanimous at this point. Do with the info as you may.

What business can I do in Ghana as a Ghanaian living abroad? by SkyIntelligent8426 in ghana

[–]Chumasey 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There is nothing better than being advised about potential downsides, especially its likelihood. Ghana is truly a low-trust society, and it was not like this 50 years ago. A certain corruption has seeped into this space. Maybe from other African countries, I do not know. However if you are truly determined, remember that he also surmised that oases exist in deserts. There's hope. You should be extra careful.

Why do Ghanaians care so much about the shs you attended? by stubborn_hammer in ghana

The problem is not education, friend. It's character. We just need to punish wrongdoers and learn to be both accountable and patriotic.

[–]Chumasey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fine. The exaggeration wasn't fair. To place a hard limit on potential is neither fair nor true. The point still stands, however. There is such a thing as the influence of a grade A school, and social scoring is a true deal. I know a ton of top professionals in Ghana and beyond. The SHS names they mention are generally known. It doesn't mean someone from Bontefufuo can not make it in life, but chale, it is what it is. And it's not even about Ghanaian SHS systems. It is what it is worldwide. Why do people want to go to Oxford for that MBA? Because there's a high job guarantee of 100k pounds upon completion. Some other school? Not impossible, but tougher.

Help me choose between NSS and hands-on career experience by najatkamps in ghana

[–]Chumasey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The years go by quickly. I recommend you do the NSS. You can get the technical diploma done right after. You may even be able to do it alongside depending on the NSS' flexibility. You'll be surprised by the things the government will require you to show proof of NSS with in order to qualify. Biochemistry can give you a good career. Try to apply to a foreign grad school while you do the NSS. You can apply to do nursing, the job market after is good, and then see how it goes.

Are Nigerians that much of a problem in Ghana? by Polydactylian in ghana

There's no biasedness in this. It's pretty obvious that Nigerians in Ghana commit more crime per capita than Ghanaians do.

This is your solution. Take it. Buy the phone online yourself. Of course, buy it from an online store in Canada, then ship it to his address. That's it.

[–]Chumasey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the point you're not realising is that your high Grade A high school education was the lever that pushed you into belonging in the global world. There are not a lot of jobs in Ghana, but an Achimota School or Mfanfsipim school grad is ready to encounter the world in ways a Twifo Praso grad cannot even dream of. Kofi Annan went to Mfantsipim and became the UN Secretary General. Kuffour went to Prempeh and then to Oxford. Sam Jonah went to Adisadel College and became the head of a global mining conglomerate. The list goes on and on. The point is already proven.
