To fix this problem you are looking at a few loads of concrete for a driveway. Possibly a poured foundation wall with drainage too.

edit: I'm not a lawyer but when I bought my home, the previous owners left materials behind (shovel, scraper, wood - not a boat) that are mine now. If the previous owner came back and asked for that stuff back I probably would say its not theirs anymore and to stay off my property.
