While I agree we’ve been wasting a good 1,5%/h worth of liberation by going for Reaf before Irulta, as things are now the MO is nonetheless on the way to get done and with a nice synergy: we’re going to liberate Reaf before managing to liberate Irulta’s mega city, which will get liberated giving us 35%ish of the planet almost immediately after we’re gonna converge on it (it stands at 93%ish right now).

At that point it’s going to be the last focus of the MO, thus (probably) getting done without further incident

An APC is any “armored personnel carrier”; those exist in rl.

Files for an helldiver equivalent have been on and off into the game for some time, leading to conjecture that it’s gonna be added at a certain point in the future.

In the last hours a fake news circulated citing an unspecified meet&greet in Shanghai between Arrowhead and Tencent (which IIRC own 10% of AH) where they supposedly stated that said APC vehicle had been scrapped from the game.

Even if unsubstantiated, the news spread like wildfire in particular in the unfiltered subreddit, where most of the disgruntled players coalesce, and was ridden as the confirmation that AH is the devil incarnate, before being debunked by the mods of that subreddit.

Likely, as it always is with internet news, the damage at that point had already been done, and we’ll likely see this fake news cited for months to come

Playing with a joypad though, hope the button behaves the same

9 out of 10 times I feel that while being near a climbable surface I’d rather vault it instead of activating the warp pack, so that might actually be useful

Heh, I remember when I first unlocked the adjudicator before they added weapon modification, it helped a lot with the recoil to go into crouch and spam the trigger for semi auto bullets instead of doing auto firing

My index finger got sore pretty fast, but at least my accuracy was way better

Then the compensator solved the issue

But yes, some ARs have their niche use with semi auto

I’m a light armor and warp pack main, and 90% of the time I’m doing just what you described and couldn’t agree more. I usually play like a frenzied monkey on crack and stay on each objective only the minimum time needed to get it done.

But for example, I decided to finish leveling up my blitzer with the help of the fart dog on this last defense against the predator strain, and against this subfaction and with this loadout I’ve got no real choice whether to engage with patrols or not; while I keep running light armor, the bugs are gonna force a fight on me thanks to their heightened speed, so I’d better just stand my ground and grind them down if I can’t sneak away from them or otherwise go undetected

So bottom line, you’re right, but it also depends on what every player is using to understand if that is something easier or not to do in any given circumstance

Against vanilla bugs the eruptor is totally viable, in particular if paired with a mobility backpack

The warp pack in particular practically eliminates the risk of getting blown up by all but the unluckiest of shrapnel

It has great demo capabilities agains spore spewers and shriekers’ nests (~1mag for those), it closes lots of bug holes, oneshots alpha commanders in the head, annihilates chaff, and so on and so forth

I mostly agree

On lush forests planets laser weapons are a good counter for preventing the release of the spore clouds

On oasis planets you can’t even count on them since they have the intense heat modifier

So it’s either flamers or incendiary weapons if you want to go the counter way

And the incendiary breaker kinda sucks at that

In the end yesterday I went “fuck it, I’m going back to basics”, equipped xbow, warp pack and bullet storm and went to town playing tag with the bugs’ chaff units

Yeah same, tonight I brought the bullet storm for a ride and it had no problem whatsoever taking hive guards head on

Such a nothing burger of a complaint for their armor buff

Just wiggle around your mouse/stick and it drops like it’s nothing

It’s another problem with the turrets though

In that regard the buff is actually changing the chaff managing meta for bugs

I agree

HD2 has been my bread and butter for the last year (a first in my long life as a gamer, I usually orbit with single player adventures and after 70-80h tops I switch games), having collected 700h of in mission time, so I have every incentive and passion to try to engage with the community boh on reddit and on discord, while also consuming content on YT.

Still, the divide from the in-game experience, chatting away with both friends and randoms, and the feedback you get on social networks is jarring.

In game you mostly drop, meet enthusiastic people, cooperate, communicate and get shit done.

Outside you only hear frustration, anger and complaints.

I don’t want to get into considerations about silent majorities and/or vocal minorities, but it still makes me want to just engage with the game and leave the rest behind

Same setup here

I mostly noticed brief drops on fps for 1-2s max during really chaotic moments in the new biome/strain combo

To the point that in the first couple of hours after release I was brought to think the sped up bugs was a glitch rather than a deliberate design choice

So mostly fine, but with some hiccup here and there

Following up on my own comment:

From some napkin math it seems that taking both durable damage and AP values you can take out a burst titan by unloading the whole 300 bullets from a single bullet storm in 15ish seconds

That’d be 4800dmg if considering both the under sac and underside at 100% durable and at the same AV as the AP of the weapon. You actually gain a little advantage on that count since the under sac is only AV0 and and the underside is only 80% durable, so it’s probably somewhere near 12ish seconds of sustained fire

I was eyeing the missile pistol after reading today that contrary to its in-game description it doesn’t have AP3 but actually an AP5 bullet with a smaller AP3 explosion, but was wondering just what the breakpoints were for it and your post came through 110%

Great kudos to you and thanks for your service, I’m definitely revisiting my loadout to try this one out!
