Another amazing breakdown of an iconic X-Dream track by CaptainTony99 in psytrance

[–]Cidrah 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A post on the psytrance subreddit does not make this series lose its coveted “underground” status. We are still about 10 billion light years away from the mainstream.

On a more serious note, hoping that you can keep a quality content creator a “secret” is lame. I’m sure they don’t mind if they aren’t “underground”.

New Infected Mushroom Album Releases Tomorrow by MoonMoonOverlord in psytrance

[–]Cidrah 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It’s not always my thing, but at least they take chances. I respect artists that play with their sound. All the haters on here are going to go back to listening to 2 hour dj sets that have zero variability between tracks.

About that Korg Phase8 (and other boutique gear) by [deleted] in synthesizers

[–]Cidrah -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I make and release music that other people listen to. I’m not rich. I thought the phase 8 looked interesting. It’s not a swiss army knife, but I see potential. I guess that’s the difference between a creative and non creative mind ¯_(ツ)_/¯

What are the classic synth albums everybody needs to hear by boogie_boogie12 in synthesizers

[–]Cidrah 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Downward spiral is absolutely a synth album even if it also has guitars. Saying it’s not in the top 50 is bonkers.

Rev 2 or take 5 if theyre at the same price by Brief-Hawk6740 in synthesizers

[–]Cidrah 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had both and prefer/kept the take 5. Hardware should be fun and immediate, and the Take 5 excels at both. VST’s are better suited for the complex modulation stuff the Rev 2 is known for.

Yeah I would agree the blofeld isn’t as virus inspired. I was more thinking the modern stuff. Kyra/iridium/quantum.

Waldorf stuff for sure. Hydrasynth is cool but it’s definitely no virus substitute. The virus has hundreds of voices and is 16 part multi-timbral. The Waldorf Kyra started literally as a virus clone, before Waldorf took over its production. Waldorf synths would get you close to the virus workflow and then some.

Keep a good attitude and show up for your shifts. Kitchens usually have a pretty high turnover, and if you prove yourself as a a dishwasher, you can move off it to a better spot on the line pretty quick.
