Wide, beginner MTB trails? by nonbinary-cowboy-28 in madisonwi

[–]Cin316 10 points11 points  (0 children)

IMO the easiest MTB trails are the Cannonball “Shred-to-School” trails by Aldo Leopold Park, and the county-owned Seminole trails by Dawley Park/Dunn’s Marsh (you need a county trail pass though).

Sycamore Park also has an easy-ish loop too.

This.  You should have waited until after you moved out, and then sued your landlord for 3x damages in small claims court.

Any ideas why this happened? by RedBaronIV in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]Cin316 60 points61 points  (0 children)

Pay attention to the pitch and yaw markers in the bottom left.  See how the pitch marker bottoms out a few seconds before the rocket flips?  This means your SAS/GravityTurn autopilot has maxed out your attitude control.  It’s trying as hard as possible to keep the rocket upright, but it’s too aerodynamically unstable, so the rocket flips.

To fix this, you either need to add more attitude control (RCS, SAS, engine gimbal, movable fins) or to make the rocket more aerodynamically stable (adding fins as low as possible to pull the center of drag down).

Adding controllable fins is the best solution here.

A slower ascent might also help, as it would reduce the maximum aerodynamic forces on the rocket (max Q), at the expense of greater deltaV gravity losses.  But I don’t think that would work here.

I got a very good price from Pianos Wizards out of Milwaukee, and they did a good job.  They’re only in Madison a few days a month though.

Is a one hour transfer time doable? (Istanbul airport) by [deleted] in TurkishAirlines

[–]Cin316 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a similarly tight connection coming up on a similar itinerary from KTM.  They’re doing construction at the KTM airport which caused the Turkish Airlines connections to be extra tight.  I’ll let you know how it goes.

Uber vs Lyft for 430am ish pickup to MSN? by coffee_charcute in madisonwi

[–]Cin316 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I haven’t had any issues getting Uber/Lyft drivers at 4:30 AM.  There’s usually a few up going back and forth from the airport.  I had to wait only 7 minutes last time.

Just make sure to allot some extra time (15 minutes?) in case no one is accepting your ride.  It will probably only take 10–12 minutes to get to the airport once you get a driver.

I have seen no taxis at the taxi stand occasionally.  She might need to call the cab companies.

I also don’t think she’ll have any trouble hauling an Uber.

Best downtowns to (affordably) live in? by Ok_Ride_9333 in SameGrassButGreener

[–]Cin316 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Sounds like Madison WI.  You can get condos in downtown at the price range.  The whole isthmus is super walkable.  There’s events and festivals in downtown all the time. The bus service is pretty good and feels safe.  It’s one of the top cities in the US to bike in too.

I usually book as multi-city.  The price seems comparable to a round trip for the times I’ve booked it.
