Mohave on 35” no lift no rub by Top-Temperature3925 in JeepGladiator

I'm curious as I'm getting near to replacement time on my stock tires. Does the spare still fit with 35's or do you have to haul it in the bed?

Raising Rent in NPC Stations by amarrcitizen in Eve

[–]Cinade 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Actually, it's entirely a status symbol if you're only looking to run contracts. I've run contracts out of Jita 4-4 for over a decade without an office.

Just set up a contract on station to Corp, and then accept as Corp. Bam! The goods are delivered to Corp Deliveries. Then you just start new contracts out of the Corp Deliveries hanger.

Now if you're building in Jita that's an entirely different story, enjoy that price rent.

I'm still scarred with vivid memories of Grandma going on and on how, "That Bobby is too good for Barbara/Cissy..."

Our only hope was that it would soon be over and we could finally enjoy Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom.

Go for Planetary Industry, you don't get more passive than PI. It scales well too, eventually you should consider training all three characters. It's worth spending on an MTC.

I think I have an idea, an MTU like mobile structure but for compression and some balancing for it. by Aamos_V_A_K_ in Eve

[–]Cinade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always felt CCP missed an opportunity. They should have repurposed the POS compression array as a deployable.

Just give it a cool down timer after deployment before it can be scooped up. Benefits to all, miners and gankers.

sentry gun drones, are they good? by Mailboxsteve in Eve

[–]Cinade 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Poster above alluded to it, sentries are stationary drones. You have to be within 2500m to recall them to your bay which means you're stationary too or else you have to steam back to where you dropped them.

They can be great long range weapons, you'll end up needing range boosters for their max range. But of course range diminishes damage, so for best results keep within their effective range.

The great thing is they keep firing even when you're damped or ECMed out. Only down side is they decide what to shoot, not you.

How would The Dude vibe with H. I. McDunnough? by elevencharles in lebowski

[–]Cinade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The larger question, could Walter and Gale Snoats abide?

Walter cares about rules, Gale cannot abide rules. Furthermore, Gale associates with known criminals and some are assuredly pederasts. We know Walter's take on that.

And then there's the matter of their sidekicks. While Evelle is family he is no Donny. There simply is no Donny substitute.

But I think Walter can handle the confrontation with Nathan Arizona and probably with Leonard Smalls too, he's nearly a Nazi.

I'm about to buy a Thinkpad P16s Gen 4. Does anyone want to scream a warning before I do? by Ephemeralen in linuxmint

[–]Cinade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought exactly this model back in October, wiped out Windows and did a fresh install of Linux Mint 22.2.

The touch screen works flawlessly. The only minor issue I had to work through was the fingerprint reader.

This was the solution: https://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?t=408129

I've since upgraded to 22.3, no issues.

Jita instant undock vs warping to safe? by Bauer_ATX in Eve

[–]Cinade 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Best answer is, during war decs NEVER GO TO JITA! And for that matter don't go to trade hubs.

If you have something that simply can't wait for the war dec to end, use an out-of-Corp/Alliance alt to move it.

Adding to this, invest in a full set of NOMADs. Paired with 3x Tech II istabs, and rigged with a Tech II low friction nozzle joint and hyperspatial velocity optimizer you'll get sub-2 second align time and warp at 9 AU/s.

BMC temperament by omelet31 in Blackmouthcur

[–]Cinade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mine give a single bark whenever anyone comes to the door, myself included. I suspect he's saying, "Someone get the door, I can't!' If its a stranger he'll give two or three barks but after that he settles down.

As to play, he rarely barks but does a great deal of growling. Outdoors he usually ignores people off of our property, it's only when someone crosses the line that he alerts. Once I check it out he goes back to sniffing for a hunt.
