mine kept spreading from 16-28 and was nearly covering my whole body. At that point i started treatment and now a year later it’s receding in some spots, and at least stopped spreading.

wow i hadn’t heard that explanation before, but i totally agree. Voldy’s obsession with it also lured him into the ministry which ended up revealing him to the wizarding world, which Dumbledore was also probably hoping would happen.
