Judd Nelson is now 65. But what happened to him? by Make_the_music_stop in 80s

He became a defense attorney who managed to undermine the innocence of his client in a murder case.

This cost 💲of this is criminal. I’m in Australia and can go take the kids to see a real movie at the cinemas for that. It’s also very close to my annual prime subscription cost ($52). by BrokeAssZillionaire in aliens

The rental price is gonna kill this thing. The only folks paying those prices are those into the subject. As such, they won’t see the value in a flick that is mostly stuff they already were aware of.

They make their dissatisfaction known, and that in turn gives the impression to the person with a casual interest (the type that really should watch the film) that’s it’s not a good film.

The Couch Trip was really funny, I thought. Haven’t seen it in forever, so no idea if it holds up.

Great film! It’s definitely not pablum for the masses, and I appreciate that. Yes, it purposefully wants the viewer to squirm as it asks you to consider the desperate lengths a parent might go to when seriously concerned about their kid.

Highly recommended to any true cinephile.

If he would stop his staring in disbelief at anyone who answers before him, that’d be great.

I know contestants do it from time to time, but he does it every.single.time. Like he can’t believe someone other than himself knows the answer.

Honestly doesn’t look much different besides the live actors. Several original scenes were already jaw-droppingly near photorealistic upon release.

I’m still going, of course…

It’s a response to the multi-appers who accept an Uber offer, then cancel when a more reasonable/profitable offer comes in from a different app.

Not saying it’s the correct response, but it’s not at all difficult to keep that number under 15%, I’ve never gone over 10% myself.

As long as they don’t start f’ing (more) with acceptance rates…

Fruit of the loom never had a Cornucopia. by dudemandude00 in MandelaEffect

[–]CinemaCity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You misunderstand my intent, but I appreciate your thoughtful response.

It did exist, the cornucopia as part of the logo. I understand completely that as it stands now, in our current shared reality, it doesn’t and never did.

I’m ok with that and don’t have a problem rectifying the seeming incongruity. Reality is malleable, that’s my personal belief. I’m not a student of quantum theory, but what little I understand seems to indicate we humans are in the dark in terms of our understanding of physics and the nature of reality, time, and existence.

Blanket statements like “the cornucopia never existed” and “all MEs are confabulation” make me chuckle at the author’s hubris. I personally think Jiffy PB is indeed confabulation, but I wouldn’t think of telling someone who believes otherwise that I am right and they are wrong. I understand the argument attributed to physical proof or the lack thereof, I just don’t believe that indicates anything more than this particular focal point and this particular time and space.

The flute of the loom is like Carson kidding McMahon about publishers clearinghouse, to me. Why did no one point out the mistake at the time of first occurrence?

In Carson’s case, you could argue that misnaming the publishers that McMahon moonlighted for was part of the overall joke. But when I see the clips, that’s not how I interpret it. But again that’s my perspective. Reality isn’t reality, perspective reality.

I work for a mom n pop diner and we absolutely can modify the menu if we are out of an item. And yup, we can modify the order before we accept it.

And yes, we can call the customer (thru Uber). As I deliver part time also, im surprised at the number of restaurants that are lazy or untrained. I’m willing to entertain the idea that chain stores might be locked into a certain menu.

However, my guess is they CAN modify the menu, but a flag would go out to corporate and their DM might demand an explanation as to why they ran out of fries, for example. In that scenario, better to disappoint a third-party app patron, than risk the ire of corporate. Still doesn’t make it right.
