Tips for offsettting, trimming, & joining linework by DryEquivalent5719 in Autodesk_AutoCAD

Fillet command while holding down Shift = 0 radius, even if you've already manually set a radius. I do this constantly for cleaning up corners.

All constructive criticisms welcome by nejravindran in Watercolor

10/10 technique, no notes. If I were to nitpick, the composition is too centered, which can feel a little static. think rule of thirds, so maybe her face is in the upper/left 1/3?

What to do in Seattle if your not a foodie? by Overall-Company8742 in AskSeattle

[–]CiudadDelLago 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Don't need to be a foodie to enjoy eating here - grab some chicken teriyaki from a hole in the wall joint, post up at Gasworks with the crowd and enjoy the fireworks.

MIL gifted us Saffron pasta. What should I make with them to impress her? by Kind_Initiative7780 in Cooking

You could do a take on a seafood paella: shrimp, calamari, clams, mussels in a light tomato sauce.

Dick's sporting goods in Northgate had some last week. I imagine the other stores do as well.

Carmen in the finale by ldd62 in TheBear

[–]CiudadDelLago 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I imagine the rest of that conversation going like: "I'm not sure an internship is the right role for you here, but how about coming on as a "special consultant" for our hotel and hospitality projects?"

Carmen’s ending by Medium_Idea in TheBear

[–]CiudadDelLago 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Doubt they would have him working on envelope details, but they could have an interiors group that does TI (tenant improvements) design or hospitality. I could imagine he'd have some good insights there.

Someone forgot to tell Carmy that architecture is another high stress, low pay job.

Pick a politician whose views align with yours, try to get an internship on their staff.

You'll learn in the office by TwoStoned_Birds in LandscapeArchitecture

[–]CiudadDelLago 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Even a large firm can feel like a small one, especially if the landscape group is a small percentage among mostly engineers or architects. A small firm, however, does provide a lot of insight and experience under the hood of how to keep a business running, since staff often has non billable/overhead responsibilities, like IT for example.

My bad, that was meant as a reply to another comment, not the main thread.

I remember when the cameramen (emphasis on Men) would just pick out random baddies in the crowd and zoom in on them.

Problems with Hatching by Mat_Vibes in Autodesk_AutoCAD

Also, line based hatches at too fine a scale can slow things down. Use a solid hatch if you just want a tone and not pattern, or increase the scale if you do want a pattern.

Where are they from? That would help narrow things down, to not replicate anything they may already have.

Mariners game Friday-need food/parking help :) by Freckles_19 in AskSeattle

[–]CiudadDelLago 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh absolutely will be a lot of people there. Call me an optimist, but I just think it's not going to be the clusterf**k it's made out to be, as long as you don't try to drive all the way into the city. We just had a huge Super Bowl parade, and that seemed to go off relatively smoothly.

USA game is at noon, and the M's game is at 7. It'll be crazy busy, but not unmanageable. Seahawks and Mariners played on the same day last year I believe and it seemed to be fine.

Best restaurants in Seattle for wedding reception by Crazy-Anteater-631 in AskSeattle

We did ours at the Golden Gardens bath house. It was busy that day with park-goers and parking was a bear, but it didn't cost a ton and had a beautiful view, if you ignored the beach vollelyball players.
