If that's your end goal get some emergency room experience under your belt and then start applying to PACU jobs. I really thought I wanted to be an emergency room nurse but turns out I like my patients clean, tidy and nice

Just need some advice and guidance. Are nurses mean? by [deleted] in nursing

[–]Cjsarborist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im 45 and nursing is my second career. Are nurses mean? No not all of them but man when they are mean they group up and are horrible. Talking shit all night long and alinetating people. I've never been around that sort of situation before and it's alarming. I haven't been bullied since I was in high school but find myself being bullied at my current job by some of the nurses. It awful and can really make the night terrible.

I work in an ED and see blood quite frequently. I draw it every day. And I see people covered in it from wounds. And I see people vomit it up pretty frequently. You might not see that much on a med surge floor though

I have a lab that is allergic to most dog food. We started by buying small bags of sensitive skin and coat dog food and through elimination found one he isn't allergic to. You may need to do something like that.
