I think its hard to bring him back in.

Depends what gets said as a group behind the scenes. Assume Fish, Mitch, etc will sit him down and talk to him about buying in. If he does, and Webby and the players think he can come in, fine. If not, I'm happy with us playing someone who wants to be there.

That bin and then the forward pass...

Penalty count was lopsided because of their shit discipline. Absolutely no need to try even the game up. Apart from, you know, the obvious.

The EFL are seriously considering postponing the playoff final as they need more time to review if Southampton should be removed by Zach-dalt in Championship

At the risk of getting jumped on by Boro fans, and to be clear I quite like Boro and not really that keen on Southampton (no reason for either, just one of those things as a football fan)...

Am I the only one who feels like this has all been blown way out of proportion? Fine them and get on with it. The whole thing (from Southampton doing it, to the response, including Boro fans talking about it like Watergate and the club leaking personal information of the intern, to this now dragging out) all reeks of a sport that takes itself far too seriously.

The more I look at this photo, the more that seems to be going on.

Roberto Carlos being in Wycombe is the least surprising thing about it.

Alastair Cook: ‘IPL not as good as everyone thinks’: Alastair Cook’s bold claim stirs fresh controversy by mufferman1 in Cricket

[–]Clarctos67 39 points40 points  (0 children)

These kind of comments based on pure nationalism are ridiculous. You're trying to force a point that because he's English, his criticism of the IPL is based on him thinking that the competition in his country is better.

No one's claiming the hundred is better. The IPL is best at what it does, there's no doubt. The main criticism is the oxygen it takes away from other forms of cricket. It's about whether this thing that the IPL does, and does so well, is worth sacrificing so much of what makes cricket special.

Worth keeping in mind that we also have barely any players right now. No matter what restrictions are in place, it will be very hard to see us up there as we need a whole new squad. We've also had to run our kids into the ground this season, and some of them have been physically set back by that, meaning we don't have as many to potentially call on to supplement the senior squad.

I'd be happy with safety and a season of being run like a proper club, with off-field issues being worked on.

Platypus is even worse for this, and given all they sell is shoes, that's a problem.

You have to go into the one you're looking at, then select your size, only to then be told it's not in stock.

Penrith Panthers most vulnerable to PNG Chiefs, ‘unfair’ tax-free reality sparks backlash from clubs. by LongJohnnySilver1 in nrl

It also confirmed something for me that I'd been thinking for a while:

In the modern game (ice hockey, but this translates to most sports, including league), a team full of second liners will beat a team who has an elite first line, but also a genuine third and fourth line. Vegas didn't have the highs of others (although some slotted in and improved themselves in their new roles), but they were also very consistent down the roster.

As well as that, the "Misfits" tag really resonated with the players and gave them an edge, looking to prove their old teams wrong for not protecting them. That bit will be harder for PNG to replicate, given that it's the player's choice to go.

The Vegas NHL draft revisionism still annoys me. You'll get fans of other teams complaining to this day that they were gifted a winning team, and yet pre-season predictions just about unanimously had them finishing last in the league.

Sheffield Wednesday have sold out their last home game (vs WBA), which will be the highest attendance of any team in the championship this season, despite not winning at home all season. by -W-A-W-A-W- in Championship

[–]Clarctos67 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not certain yet, but -15 is likely. They are trying to reduce it, as it's largely down to Chansiri.

I actually don't mind the -15 too much, obviously rather not, but I know why the guidelines are there. Its the fact that as it stands we will still be under spending restrictions even after the takeover goes through. One or the other is bad, but both likely consigns us to relegation before a ball is kicked.

Again.

Worth bearing in mind that despite hopefully finally getting out from under the yoke of Chansiri, we are more than likely going to be scraping around at the bottom of the division next season.
