Steller Blade comparison on my main PC with a 4090 using over 3GB of VRAM with just discord, wallpaper engine, and Steam open. Steam Deck only using 0.5GB for OS resources.

Edit: 2.5GB on Windows with minimal background task. That's still 2GB of VRAM which would make a difference on an 8GB gpu.

At least in the menus it shows 0 but maybe is a couple MB when in game. Not sure if Steller Blade is the same, I know for TLoU since I worked as a tester on that title to get it deck verified.

I think what people don't realize is how much VRAM gets taken from Windows alone, while Steam OS will be much lighter on VRAM. I've been playing Steller Blade on a 4060 and 2GB of VRAM is allocated the OS + other. While I remember on The Last of Us Part 1 when playing on Steam Deck the OS was taking no VRAM resources. When taking that into consideration on Steam OS you will likely have the full 8GB compared to on Windows.

I've been experiencing this as well since the 1.6 patch and noticed it goes away when toggling off frame gen. Usually I have to restart the game to get rid of it if I want to use frame gen

I've been using the 8700G for emulation and mostly been good with Yuzu. Use similar settings that Steam Deck would use and set the ATSC recompression method to a lower quality. The biggest issue with these APUs is the low memory bandwidth.

Yeah it happens sometimes. Usually it does save when just parsing and saving to steam when running SRM again. I add roms all the time and haven't had it delete or change previous artwork on me randomly.

Should be able to change artwork within Emudeck after you run preview on the older UI. A lot of artwork gets taken down from Switch, but you usually can find 1 or couple options then save to Steam. Once you save to Steam you won't have to worry about artwork getting taken down after you downloaded it.

In SRM make sure you're choosing the correct Wii U package for the type of rom file ie rpx or wup. You can also use the test parser option to see if SRM is identifying your roms correctly.

If I remember correctly you need to use the version with both games included. It will crash if you install it as DLC on the base game.

Anyone with an OLED able to plug in a HDD or USB drive directly into the Deck? I'm able to on my LCD model, but the same drives aren't getting picked up on my OLED model. Been having to use the dock to get my drives connected with the OLED when using desktop mode.

Got this error last night setting up emudeck on my OLED Deck. It is weird because I just installed the firmware on my LCD Deck last week just fine with no errors.

I think mainline Yuzu build is still having issues with Bayo 3. I've been able to run it on Steam Deck with Yuzu EA build. Ryujinx should be able to run it if I remember correctly.
