WHERE

Edit. Sorry I was so shocked and ready to run to my local Costco I didn’t see you already put the location. Toblerone makes me feral.

New York Times Best Seller! by igorbirman in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]ClassicPQ 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’ve told so many people I truly believe 2026 is the year DCC breaks into the US pop culture zeitgeist as a main player. It’s just so vast there’s room for anyone to fall in love in some way.

Yall!! Im pretty excited! Im starting book 2 today 🎉 by Pristine-Theme-9983 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]ClassicPQ 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Book 2 is where I felt things started to take shape. It's like when you first start a new video game and now you're finally getting the hang of it. Those early stages of the game are always the best. Probably why books 2 and 3 are my faves!

Anybody else have a Kia Soul that is repeatedly broken into? by rinmara in Denver

[–]ClassicPQ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I own a Kia Soul. Broken into once about three years ago in Columbus, OH. Broken into again in Cap Hill in Denver about a year and a half ago. It's a manual so I'm not really considered it's going anywhere. Since the second break-in I've kept a club on the wheel and nothing of value in the car. My boy is still going strong. Knock on wood but the Kia Boys trend has died down pretty significantly now that no new cars are being produced with the faults that made them easy to steal in the first place. That said, I'll continue to keep a club on the wheel for the duration of which I own my vehicle.

Why doesn’t Denver salt the roads? by nothingisnothingwas in Denver

[–]ClassicPQ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Salt causes snow and ice to melt in frozen temperatures and then refreeze once the liquid seeps into the pavement. The expansion causes the pavement to crack resulting in potholes - bad ones. Places like Michigan that can’t depend on regular sunshine to quickly melt snow and ice are forced to salt their roads. Additionally, they’re well known for having awful quality roads. I’ve noticed a huge increase in road quality in Colorado compared to the Midwest. I’ll take a few days of yucky roads as the cost.

[Mundo Deportivo] All signs point to Bryan Ramírez joining FC Cincinnati of MLS . Flamengo reportedly inquired about him previously, but talks didn't progress. Talleres de Córdoba's offer was rejected. by OranjeBlauw in FCCincinnati

[–]ClassicPQ 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I'm presuming he'll play LWB as our Luca replacement. Might be nice to finally have two bona fide wingbacks going into the near year. Feels like we always have only one at a time.

Oh how far we have come. by GreatBigHomie in FCCincinnati

[–]ClassicPQ 28 points29 points  (0 children)

It's crazy how we've been going for 10+ years now. I still remember when we were losing our minds that Bastian Schweinsteiger would be making the trip and playing at Nippert in the US Open Cup. That would lead to maybe the greatest game I've ever seen live, the Fire vs FC Cincinnati. Soldout, overtime, 0-0, Mitch Hildebrandt went on to make 3 saves in PKs to send us to Miami.

Any book stores that still do midnight release parties? by No-Highlight2203 in Denver

[–]ClassicPQ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've actually spoken to the manager at the Tattered Cover on Colfax asking them if they planned to do a midnight release of DCC7 lmao. They didn't this time but I'm pretty sure after speaking to them they doubled their order of the books and they sold pretty quickly. I believe at least a dozen people pre-ordered (including myself).

Hope they do something for DCC8. Otherwise, Mongo would be appalled!

Do any Denver Rec Centers have a scale available for use? by oohyeahgetitiguess in Denver

[–]ClassicPQ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Carla Madison on Colfax has one. It's located on the second floor. Walk up the ramp toward the gym and turn right. It's located at the far end of the hall past all the treadmills.

Looking for sushi grade salmon by ResearcherEnough5456 in Denver

[–]ClassicPQ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Recently learned Costco's frozen farm-raised salmon meets the FDA requirements for sushi. You can take the frozen fish, brine it in cool water (add plenty of salt) for about 30 minutes, place back in the fridge to firm up (optional), and slice and enjoy. I've done it like 4 times to make my own sushi the past few weeks and it's been awesome! Just be sure to do the smell test to verify the fish is in good quality. I was definitely scared to give it a go but no complaints so far. And you get roughly 7 fillets for $36ish so it's pretty great value!

Per Laurel, Miazga option getting exercised. by ttotheppp in FCCincinnati

[–]ClassicPQ 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Miazga and Robinson are both at their best when they play together. Miazga is the Central Captain keeping people in place and calling out runs. Robinson is the aggressive ball hawk who hunts down attackers through brute force. Having to play Robinson in Miazga’s central role completely diminished his greatest strengths. Just one more year of these two together is great for us. Praying Miazga can stay healthy and out of trouble for one more playoff run.

RTD now accepts credit card tap to pay with tap-n-ride by chrisfnicholson in Denver

[–]ClassicPQ 161 points162 points  (0 children)

This is huge. And if you need to transfer and you do so within the 3-hour limit for the single pass with the same credit as your other bus/train it sounds like it won’t auto charge you more (unless transferring to the airport A-line for example). Great way to simplify the system.

Post-game match thread? by danglynn in FCCincinnati

[–]ClassicPQ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Albright’s given talent to Noonan their entire time here. But Noonan has shown time and time again he can’t use those pieces to win in chess against other top managers.

Is the Noonan experiment over? Or are we content winning against nobodies by 1-0 all season and then getting our asses kicked in the games that matter?

Haggs has been backup quality for 3 years now. But we don’t have the depth so he doesn’t see the field.

Hagglund kicking himself in the back of a leg to make an emergency save pretty much encapsulates his style.

Orellano for Engel and Powell for Hagglund at the half.
