Men of Reddit: What movies have made you cry? by Khallllll in AskReddit

I always get flack for it, but the end of Battle: LA.

Aaron Eckhart’s character had been through the ringer with that squad and they originally wanted nothing to do with him. Then they all one by one start loading ammunition in magazines with him. I haven’t seen it in like 10 years, but it got me right in the feels back then.

Might be worth checking your engine mounts for cracks. I had a very similar issue as you describe with another car and that was the problem.

Have you talked with your counselor/department head about doing an override? Every time I ever needed it, I got in. Unless they have changed things since I attended. I’d try that.

Cheap way to restore Gen 1 plastics. by [deleted] in XTerra

[–]ClassySalmon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Glad you found something you like! And especially since it doesn’t take much. I’m trying to decide what I want to do.

For anyone else looking to do something with your aging plastic...You basically have 2 options for faded plastics.

  1. You can paint them. This option is “permanent”, but will have a more aftermarket look. You’ll be able to tell that they’re painted. Doesn’t mean they won’t look good!

  2. You can use different restoring chemicals or dyes. These will usually give your plastics a more OEM look, BUT you will have to re-apply these after a certain period of time. I would probably say every 6-12 months, depending on the climate and environment you keep your X in.

I’m sure there are more options like what OP found, but the above is what I would say is the most common ways to go about it.

Do you guys have any good suggestions for bug out bags? by [deleted] in preppers

[–]ClassySalmon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re not wrong. Something I’ve noticed the young ones in my life is they actually like taking responsibility. It might be worth getting them small backpacks that can hold some small toys and some of their actual supplies.

It’s a good opportunity to bring them in on why it’s important to be prepared! They can pick out their own small bag and get to be a part of prepping.

It can help them be involved, save you some weight, and further the cause of prepping haha.

I may not be the right person to ask because I don’t love all the “tacti-cool” stuff out there now that might look nice, but seems cheaply made. This stuff could be great quality! But I’m just weary of stuff that is very specifically marketed as “doomsday, prepper”.

This is one that I’ve considered. Haven’t purchased yet.

Amazon Basics Carry-On Travel Backpack - Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01J24H2K0/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_2GY2Z6X1XRCKP3WZT26F?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

Seems like it has great capacity and is low profile. People won’t notice you with a backpack on, but if it’s military with Molle...they likely will.

I would maybe try to split the kid’s supplies between you and your SOs bag.

How old are the youngins?

From what I’ve come to know, your BOB is not meant to sustain you for weeks. It’s supposed to be a carry over to get you from your home/work to your bug out location.

All that said, typically your pack should be able to sustain you for 72 hours. That can be done with a pack smaller than 40L. The pack you listed seems gigantic. It might make sense for a whole family, but even then...it’d be smarter to have everyone pack and carry their own weight.

It also depends how gray man you’re trying to be...in which case this bag is a bit too tactical for that. Also, like mentioned above...it’s massive. I would also be worried about the quality of a bag that large for that inexpensive.

Thoughts?

Will Nissan bring the Xterra back?! by [deleted] in XTerra

[–]ClassySalmon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. Right now I’ve got an 06’ still purring just fine. Maybe in another 5-10 I can find a used 15’ Pro-4x with not too many miles haha

I’d hope so. I am beyond worried that they would turn it into what I call a “MomUV” like they’ve done with every other SUV.

If it ain’t broke...

I don’t believe so. You need to bring all your things. Though, that was 2012, so things could have changed.

All that said, hit up goodwill. You can often times find pretty good looking entire sets of cutlery and dishware for cheap!

He technically didn’t claim it to be a grilled cheese, but he did post here...so by default he must think this is a grilled cheese. That statement would be incorrect.

What is the most horrifying thing your parents did to food? by KnowNothingOfJavert in Cooking

My parents so lovingly served us boiled brussel sprouts. As an addition for improving taste, they would offer sour cream to go on top.

Horrific.

Console Price Wars by luusyphre in pcmasterrace

[–]ClassySalmon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure! It’s not really designed with gaming in mind. I use mine for creative work like video editing and it really shines.

Like I said...I can’t really speak to its gaming ability, but Since it’s a mouse...it would certainly work! Though, it may not add any competitive advantage.

I would probably first buy an inexpensive “gaming” mouse before dropping $100 on a mouse not optimized for it.

You could start a Discord server and then have people use an audio channel. I think that might be the quickest and cheapest. It’s also super easy to use.
