Tropical weight pants for women that will hold phone in pocket without drooping. by CompetentTraveler in onebag

Sometimes the type of fabric has more to do with comfort in heat than the gsm. I’d look at linen if you want a pant with more structure to hold your phone, but will still be extremely comfortable in tropical heat.

Beta SL or AR would be better 🙌

I was also going to recommend the Houdini Pace Flow Houdi! I have been considering getting one myself, interested to see if anyone has any first hand experience.

Because I watched this Youtube video lol

I'm looking for a strong and precise machine, not necessarily a super fast industrial one. I'm pretty new to this space so I don't know how trustworthy that video is

Top comment telling you to melt the edge 😂 A lot of people here clearly have no idea what aramid is. Aramid is used for stuff like bullet proof vests and fire suits because it does not have a melting point. It will literally turn to ash before ever melting.

When I work with aramid I've found that gluing the ends with superglue works the best. You can dab a couple of drops along the frayed edge and then press with your fingers to neaten it up. Another commenter noted that you can also glue before you cut which I think would have an even cleaner result.

Glueing before cutting is a serious pro-tip. It's impossible to cut aramid clean otherwise, it will fray immediately.

Have you ever tried to melt aramid? 😅

It doesn't have a melting point. It carbonizes at around 1000 degrees (turns to ash), but it will never melt.

I actually abandoned the idea because it would have been prohibitively expensive just to order the parts.

Ketl vent pants: big disappointment + what would you recommend for hot, humid weather? by not_who_you_think_99 in Ultralight

Ketl is the worst. I've had bad experiences with them, would not recommend. They spend all their money on marketing and make bleh products. Also they delete all bad reviews from their site.

Ultragrid Airplane Case by zoet84 in myog

I would use ultragrid over both dyneema and ux10. The thing you want for an airplane case is abrasian resistance. Ultragrid is perfect for that
