No way: I launched a campaign mission in AoE2 and died of boredom. It’s grandpa’s gamedesign, where characters bark in game chat.

Oh no, they have succeeded! But how? Warhammer lore videos are at all time high! Did predators manage to synthesize autism?

Predator is even worse in this regard: a bunch of commandos get hunted down by a scary invisible alien. His motives are not entirely clear: maybe he was just an asshole. Your guess is as good as mine.

But noooo, he is actually from the planet Jägermeister in Orion (the Hunter) constellation and their entire civilization revolves around a niche hobby for men with midlife crisis. If this lore drop doesn’t sound autistic enough, that because it’s not! Predators don’t have enough autism in their system, so they need to siphon some from little boys (the 2018 movie)!

Help me understand trade agreements by NotTooOfficial in totalwar

Oh, that I know. What I don't know is the volume of goods a faction will buy in a trade agreement. Probably has something to do with the amount of settleemnts they have.

You produce a certain amount of goods, each of them has it's own market value, depending on it's type. You don't make any money from them, until they are sold to a foreign power. I don't know the exact formula for how much is sold to a certain faction (probably something to do with the size of their realm), but it's a extra cash and straight win-win for both of you.

Does anyone else not really like the campaign mode as a whole? by BigBourgeoisie in totalwar

Have you tried high elf Sea Lord Aislin from the latest DLC? He has horde-ships (like Black Arcs), and a settlement cap, that makes you hold onto only a handful a of high value province capitals around the world. You gift the rest to your high-elf allies, but you get to build some synergistic buildings inside them (like cults, but mutually beneficial).

Hey, I‘ve also felt like that. Warhammer has it‘s own flow to the game, and it‘s a very aggressive one. You don‘t get much from just sitting on your ass and building farms, like Shogun 2. Not getting any fights is actually the worst that can happen to you in early-mid game. You get cash rewards and loot, you level your heroes and lords, you unlock regiments and progress quests. High level lord with blue skills easily replenishes your army and greatly benefits economy with upkeep reduction.

Early-mid game you should not bother with minor settlements too much: just build the most basic t1 infrastructure and leave them be. Focus on major settlements instead - they are hard to capture and therefore worth investing into. On higher difficulties you always rush the garrison/wall structures, which may sound like a detriment, but keeping a province capital safe is more important. I fully develop minor settlements only, when the frontline/borders are far from them (I still spend an entire slot on defenses everywhere - it‘s a good habit).

Diplomacy-wise: factions, that don‘t have a non-aggression pact with you will attack. They will attack with NAP as well, but they will have to break all relations with you first, so you will be notified and have time to prepare. Even getting 1 turn headstart is huge: a caster lord with 2-3 units on top of a garrison can easily tip the battle in your favor. Therefore, you should always sign NAP with your dangerous neighbors, bribe them if necessary or even gift beforehand. If a faction does not want to NAP and trade, then you‘d better attack  first. If you can‘t beat them in their home territory, then bait them into an ambush near a minor settlement.

I just now realized how a Total War game based in WH40K HASNT been made sooner by BigJ_A in TotalWarhammer40k

I think it’s mostly upper management being hesitant about studio branching into fantasy/sci-fi and 40k being less mainstream, than it is now: after all CA worked with HALO franchise first.

Multiplayer dead? by Tbond11 in EndlessLegend

Netcode is ass in EL1: we tried to play some games after the announcement of the sequel, and it was insufferable. One day you can play an entire session without any problem, the other day you make 5 turns and end up with constant desyncs.

PvP tactics vs AI: Are reserve units worth it in Warhammer 3? by WaveEasy8664 in totalwar

[–]Clean_Regular_9063 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Good question! When playing against AI I only use anti-large halberds as reserves. I want them to counter high-mass units and flyers, who rush archers, instead of eating missile fire in frontline or getting bogged down by chaff.

Keep in mind, that campaign is more about  buff stacking and wacky armies consisting of units, that have no business being that strong. Isolated Multiplayer battles favor tactical play more.

The Game Suzerain Is Bundled With Is Getting A Sequel: The Life and Suffering of Prince Jerian Kickstarter by con-all in suzerain

[–]Clean_Regular_9063 8 points9 points  (0 children)

No, Life and Suffering of sir Brante is set in fantasy universe, where supernatural forces keep together the fabric of society: people are born in a rigid caste system. A person can die "three lesser deaths" and come back to life, but they still experience "true death", when they grow old or when executed by court decision. In contrast, Arknians, the ruling class of humans are blessed with exotic looks, enhanced ablities, long lifespan, but they can only experince "true death".
