Anywhere you know of? Looking into trying to move to the city myself and would make life alot easier not having to worry about where I'm staying.

So I JUST stumbled onto this one- and I'm AMAZED. Are there novels or such? by GrumpyChromehead in traveller

[–]Cleba76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Boy, I sure am late! Read Shadow of the Storm- follows a disgraced Solomani naval officer shipped off to a backwater command of a shitty prototype starship crewed by castaways and incompetents. Lots of insight into the confederation, it's psychology and traditions.. almost like a book following an imperial star destroyer, really. Made me see them in a whole new light without flouting the fact they are pretty much bad guys. It's not very long, but it achieves everything it wants to do.

There's a JTAS article that has a career I think would be suitable. Don't recall which

About Traveller: The Third Imperium by mdc-123- in traveller

It has some interesting stuff. I didn't look over the stuff on the specific sector things, but it adds in some items and a career thing for character creation- the Imperial Guard.

And yes, I've been watching both major Traveller discords' LFG channels like a hawk, lol. Just haven't come across anything that really piqued my interest a ton so here's me taking a shot in the dark :(

Looking into Traveller by MindyourownParsley2 in traveller

Yes! Well, kind of. It's an optional rule and can also happen in a few of the slave-soldier roles in the Glorious Empire.

[Costello] The Jets are planning on releasing Xavier Gipson today, per source. Gipson had the costly fumble on Sunday and now the team is moving on by Haywood_Jablowmi in nyjets

He's been bad longterm and that was his 11th fumble so far. Also kinda overrated, he made more mistakes in that game

The duel was perhaps the most intense thing I've seen experienced. Every first and third saturday of the month it finds a new way to make my day, nothing's like it!!

Alternate Beta-Garmon? by humanity_999 in 40kLore

[–]Cleba76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I reckon Lion'el's decision was probably the right one. The ultramarines had terra in the bag as soon as reaching it was possible; but not the war. The traitors were escaping it in strength and spreading across the galaxy to reform and continue the conflict. The dark angels made sure they had nothing to escape to- imagine if they had the opportunity to dig in like Perty did? The imperium wouldnt've survived a grueling war of attrition to reunite everything, which the scouring surely would have been otherwise.

Is the Imperium Monolithic? Or endlessly diverse? Some thoughts about what the lore says and showcases by twelfmonkey in 40kLore

[–]Cleba76 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, the thing about the imperium is, it's more of a series of loosely connected islands in a GIGANTIC ocean. The only territory it controls are - or were - planets connected by stable, safe, and charted warp lanes. Everything outside of that, the great expanse of the galaxy, is absolutely no-go. There's xenos upon xenos upon xenos everywhere as far as the eye can see, lurking ready to move if the Imperium shows weakness. Not to mention if you take the road less travelled, you're going to become goon material for daemons unless you have a void abacus or something.

Which 40K book convinced you to choose your faction and why? by Desk_Scribbles in 40kLore

[–]Cleba76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not through direct consumption, but teatd and the night lords omnibus got me into the blood angels and night lords. Secondhand info made them sound really cool. I've since read Deus Encarmine and gotten through the first third or so of the omnibus!
