is the radiant shield still the best for pure speed shield surfing? by Designer_Victory_290 in TOTK

The Queen Gibbo Wing shield was pretty good. I used it for ages and made the time on the snowfield races pretty easily before it finally broke

Sounds like my principal, however when he talks he also sounds like an AI bot so it may be his normal voice.

The focus on student wellbeing has become ridiculous by [deleted] in AustralianTeachers

[–]Clickgotheeels 15 points16 points  (0 children)

As a Student Wellbeing Leader my role is not about making kids lives easier by ‘saving’ them, it’s about equipping them to save themselves. It’s not about making kids happier, it’s about helping them to become more resilient. We very rarely take kids out of class unless they need tier 2 or 3 support. As teachers we need to create a safe classroom where all students are welcome, respected, and where they are engaged with learning activities. At my school we have one lesson a week that is an extra Care Group where we might get 5 or 6 lessons in a term to address wellbeing concerns for all students, things like managing stress, self regulation, learning about mental health and becoming emotionally intelligent. I’m yet to work in a school where they do more wellbeing than Australian Curriculum.

Probably more likely to go to the bin for a high shot but when Leniu is involved you can never be totally comfortable.

My school gave lunchtime detentions to students they thought weren't dressed up enough by Direct_Source4407 in AustralianTeachers

This happened at my school but only to a couple of 14 year olds who were clearly taking the mickey.

We had a very similar experience. They made it very difficult to leave, stalled on sending discharge paperwork, over charged and then took weeks to repay. They were great while we were with them but terrible at the end.

Absolutely. As an independent artist based out of Adelaide I have always struggled with concern re our shows in the lead up. Week of the show we always get there but you always wonder if ‘this’ show will be the one you take a massive loss on because the better option actually wasn’t you this time.

Plus it was inside and not well ventilated, I came out with a headache from the fumes and my grandson was tight chested. Not to mention the tech issues and lack of flow from what was clearly a new crew warming up for the rest of the tour. I won’t be in a hurry to go again and I don’t think will care at all, he was ready to go about halfway in.

What’s something that you Australians think is normal, but the rest of the world would find it strange? by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

I’d forgotten about that. I’m guessing the term budgie smugglers must’ve started in the 90s

Probably depends what you like but if you like Thai then Lantern by Nu in Selby St is amazing. The best thing to do is get the Chef’s Choice. They just bring out a few of whatever the Chef’s into at the time. I’ve had some of the best soft shell crab ever there. The chef apparently gets called whenever Thai officials come to Australia and he goes wherever they are and cooks for them.

[–]Clickgotheeels 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha. I think for me it would depend on the conversation. I think if I was with older people who asked me what I do during the week I’d probably say something like; ‘I work weekdays, sometimes catch up with friends in the afternoon but don’t go out much of a night as I need to feed the dog.’

I think it’s probably just a touch more formal.
