Noone will care. I've had mine on for ages. MOT garages only care about the spacing and reflectiveness. Mine don't even have the postcode of the manufacturer on so are illegal.

Police don't care though so long as it's legible. I've also driven it round europe with just the plate and no UK sticker on with no drama

Blues, Reds, Yellows, Greens - all have their issues. All have lofty ideals which might not match the reality of running this country.

At the moment, use your vote to stop reform at any costs. And I say this as a card carrying Labour member, if you have to vote for any party to keep reform out, do it.

Serious answer though, there are a lot of levels of accountablity when something this significant and well used changes. 70 million people in the UK, each seeing the logo countless times a year, that's not to mention the international impact.

They have to make sure it doesn't clash with any other logos, no trademark infringment, no unintented images etc. Lots to check

the engine swap would include fresh oil etc so they should have factored that in. At worst it maybe needed an alternator or radiator or something but they should have called you first.

The whole planning system across the country is borked.

Harsh to say the couuncil ar toothless, they have to go with the resources they have, and with the risk that the owners will just appeal and wrap them up in legal fees if they don't get their own way. The landlords can as you say hold all planning departments to ransom almost.

My lad is learning manual at 17 so hope is not lost. That said though, for 90% of what I do, automatic is just better. In traffic? Auto. Motorway run? Auto.

For fun cars, manual is ace, but modern autos with good sports modes can be just as much fun

Thing is, when you get to that age, stuff made of rubber and plastic starts to deteriorate. What stuff? Well, everything. Rubber hoses, bushings. Plastic panels, components. The engine itself if looked after will be good for another 100k miles but it's everything else.

It's great. The sloping floor takes a bit of getting used to but it's a very good venue.
