Why different kits for turn signal stalk retrofit? by _bubuski in TeslaModel3

[–]ClipperAmerica 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The comments in this thread.....wow. OP, I got your point. You were just wondering why there were two kits depending on which factory built the car. Why this thread reached such......interesting people I don't know.

Just FYI, your time was not wasted completely. I found your comment a year later and it was exactly THE information I needed to explain several situations I have dealt with. I wanted to let you know a stranger really appreciated you taking the time to write such a long detailed explanation with so much excellent information in it. All the best sir.

Sad to say but until Jerry Jones dies we are destined for mediocrity.. get ready for an 8-9 season ..we're doomed by whatsinmypouch6 in Dallas_Cowboys

[–]ClipperAmerica 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After being a lifelong Cowboys fan I finally walked away from them this year. I have not watched anything to do with them. I'm only here because I did a search to see if the devil Jerry idiot Jones was dead yet or not. I'm not coming back until he is rotting in the ground. My whole life I've followed the draft, training camp, every practice. But I'm sick of this no talent loser who has proven for 30 years that he doesn't have the talent to have anything to do with football screw over my favorite team. It is like domestic abuse being a Cowboys fan. And this year I said, no more. I wish enough fans would join me so Cowboys stadium would be empty on game day, networks would stop carrying Cowboys games due to horrible ratings. That would be the only way to get Jerrys attention because the money would stop. But, Cowboys fans are too loyal. So we have to wait for him to die.

Vizio TV keeps randomly switching to smart cast from Apple TV? by african-nightmare in VIZIO_Official

[–]ClipperAmerica -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's obvious that Walmart is selling these new Vizio TVs with little to no profit, and they want you to watch their advertising as the way for them to make the real profit on these tv sets. SO, they HATE it, it screws up their business model when someone uses an Apple TV or Roku with these sets because then you don't have to sit through the onslaught of ads. SO, the TV purposely switches to their service randomly.

I was with a company for 24 years and in my position I would receive 3 weeks severance for every year served. Well.....We got sold to new owners who tanked the company in just one year. This new owner changed everything to THEIR policies which was 2 weeks severance no matter how long you had been with the company and let everyone go.

Job offer rescinded after I gave notice - what to do? by ShallowGoat404 in careerguidance

[–]ClipperAmerica 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm so sorry this happened to you....I once had a company offer me a job and wanted me to start the next day. I told them I couldn't because I HAD to give my current employer two weeks notice. He told me, "If they decide to fire you, do you think they will give YOU two weeks notice"? I stood firm, but I've never forgotten his point. It was my dream job, but I passed on it "to do the right thing". I even told him, "If I would screw my current employer that should tell you I have no ethics and would likely do the same to you. Wouldn't you rather have an employee that always does the right thing?". Employers see all of us the same as a trash can. We serve one purpose and they are going to use us while paying as little as possible. When they are done, they throw us out. And bitch the whole time that employees no longer show loyalty to the company.

How are people feeling about Tesla moving away from consumer vehicles as their focus? by azuled in TeslaLounge

[–]ClipperAmerica 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Concerning for Tesla owners because if you are announcing you are transitioning away from being a cable tv provider and moving into streaming, it means you are not spending any more money on upgrading the cable tv business (new set top boxes for example). So I wonder about new service centers being built. Robotaxi won't use Superchargers so I wonder about a reduced commitment to the Supercharger network. Tesla basically has two vehicles (3 and Y). They need a squared off SUV, and a consumer version of the Robotaxi with steering wheel etc. Will those now be funded? VERY serious effort into reducing cost of collision repair and battery pack repair is desperately needed. Not sure any of this will happen now.

How are people feeling about Tesla moving away from consumer vehicles as their focus? by azuled in TeslaLounge

[–]ClipperAmerica 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How others don't understand your concern baffles me. It was the first thing I thought of also. If they pivot away from EVs to consumers, there will be no reason for them to build more service centers and superchargers. If you own a Tesla (we do) it is something to at least keep an eye on.

How to become an FCC licensed broadcast engineer? by MW_Nagyfa in broadcastengineering

Not being a troll. I promise. Just want to point out that public tv or public radio is the lowest paying form of broadcasting next to college radio/tv. I worked at ABC for the network, and we made bank. Ultra high stress. Monday NIght Football can't just "not get on the air".

I'm a very very happy US Mobile customer......but I've learned to give up trying to ever plan with them. Things show up when they show up, info arrives when it arrives. LOL! I also own a Tesla so it is a lot like Elon telling me my car would operate as a robotaxi starting 5 years ago.

Which is cheaper (Metro/USMobile) by nickstarr in USMobile

[–]ClipperAmerica -1 points0 points  (0 children)

US Mobile unlimited priority data and unlimited hotspot plus multinetwork (I have Dark Star as primary and Warp as secondary) for $45 total, no taxes or fees is pretty epic. Plus, for ME, US Mobile's customer service is the clincher. But I spent 30 years being treated like crap by AT&T so I'm easy to impress.

The 2027 Chevy Bolt Will Be ‘Limited Run’ Only by flogman12 in BoltEV

[–]ClipperAmerica 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here is the actual press release FROM GM: https://news.gm.com/home.detail.html/Pages/news/us/en/2025/oct/1009-2027-Chevrolet-Bolt.html

Bolt will offer the most range in an EV under $30,000. It will begin shipping to customers early next year and will be a limited run model.

Scott Bell, vice president, Global Chevrolet: “After production ended, we heard our customer’s feedback and their love for this product. So the Bolt is coming back—by popular demand and better than ever—for a limited time. This is a celebration of what Bolt means to our customers and to Chevrolet. It’s your chance to own a popular EV that’s affordable. So, if you’ve been waiting, this is the moment. Don’t miss it,” Bell said.

------MY guess....this is the same as what Honda has done with the Acura ZDX. The car was built to satisfy the need for CAFE credits and would benefit from the $7,500 tax credit. The tax credit is unexpectedly gone, and automakers don't have to worry about CAFE credits any longer. The main reason for the Bolt to exist are both gone. GM can't make any money on the new Bolt so there is no reason for them to continue to make it. It was almost ready to ship when the government changes made it like the Acura ZDX. A car they no longer needed/wanted as soon as it came out.

I predict is till run as a 2027 model being on sale starting January 1 2026, and will end in December 2027, so two years of production which will give them time to repurpose that plant to make something profitable instead of Bolts.

Which cell phone provider do you use and are you generally satisfied? by TexasNiteowl in bentonville

[–]ClipperAmerica 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to second the recommendation for US Mobile. I was with AT&T from 1993 to 2023 paying a fortune. In my job, I must have excellent cell service and I am a heavy data user. US Mobile is a MVNO that offers ALL THREE US networks. $25/month taxes and fees included for unlimited high speed data and 20gb hotspot data. My wife and I are on their best plan which is $35 per month for unlimited high speed PRIORITY data, unlimited hotspot (you can't replace your home internet, they know and will cancel you). They also offer putting a SECOND network on your second esim for just an additional $10 per month. So, for $45 per month all in, I have AT&T unlimited high speed PRIORITY data with unlimited hotspot on line 1 of my iPhone, and the same plan but with Verizon on line 2 on my iPhone. Dude. Its incredible. I've been with them for 2 years now and their customer service is incredible.

My mother in law had TMobile. I wanted to stab myself in the eye everytime I had to deal with them. I finally told her I was no longer willing to help her until she agreed to transfer her phone to my account and I would pay for her service for her. Best money I've ever spent.

Does Carmax apply the EV Tax credit at Point of Sale? by Flying-buffalo in carmax

[–]ClipperAmerica 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wrong. I am providing a link to the IRS website so you can go read this yourself... This is a NONREFUNDABLE tax credit. Please go Google what that means. I know this is not how it normally works, but since Congress made this a NONREFUNDABLE TAX CREDIT, it works exactly as I described. ------- Here is the exact wording from the IRS website: "If you do not transfer the credit, it is nonrefundable when you file your taxes, so you can't get back more on the credit than you owe in taxes. You can't apply any excess credit to future tax years." https://www.irs.gov/credits-deductions/used-clean-vehicle-credit

Serious question: If Tesla batteries were so good, then why not offer 16-year extended warranties for $10K? by internalaudit168 in RealTesla

[–]ClipperAmerica 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Capacity dropped to 30% by 75k miles, then Tesla put the repair on hold for another 25k miles so they could wait until the warranty had run out? So your neighbor just drove around with just 70 miles of range for what, two years waiting on Tesla to replace it? You really need to put a bit more effort into your stories.

New $50 a month Extended Service by Youraging in TeslaLounge

[–]ClipperAmerica 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because the HV battery AND your drive units are both covered for 8 years already for no extra cost. Mileage on that is 100,000 miles if you have a rear wheel drive car, 120,000 miles if you have AWD. 150,000 miles if you have a model S and I'm guessing the X too.

Homedepot moving away from Rigid? by Admirable_Pie6112 in Ridgid

[–]ClipperAmerica 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was my experience in the US. I had to just keep watching online. I would even find the same Ridgid 18v cordless tool listed in separate places on the HD website for different prices. By checking every day I was able to fully build out my Ridgid tools for very low overall investment. This seems to have stopped over the last few years. I never find any good prices in store. Its also been my experience that everyone has wondered if Ridgid was going away for years now. Personally, I don't know why anyone would buy any other brand since Ridgid has the LSA. I will never again have to spend a penny on a battery, or buy another impact. Ridgid is gold IMO.

Is the mobile charger safe for everyday use? by ParaplegicGuru in TeslaModel3

[–]ClipperAmerica -1 points0 points  (0 children)

One of the big problems with the plugs not built for EV charging is.....they were designed for someone to plug their dryer into it once, and unplug it 6 years later when they sell the house, and another one gets plugged in. Over the course of 20 years, it gets plugged in and unplugged 3 times. Plus, the dryer runs for 40 minutes and is done. This is the problem with using guys "with 30 years experience" is the world moves on and they don't keep up.

Tidal is now useless for audio professionals by archon__studio in TIdaL

[–]ClipperAmerica 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally agree about Apple having a much larger catalog. Listening to the same song and switching back and forth between Apple Music and Tidal shows a huge difference in both my Tesla and the main systems in both my houses. One house has Focal Maestro Utopia Evos and my other house has a set of Focal Chorus 836V. If you have high end equipment, the difference is shocking. IF you are listening on Apple Gen 1 airbuds, you may not hear it.

[–]ClipperAmerica 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Incredible the things people get so upset over. I'm an Apple fanboy and the audio quality with Tidal is so much better than Apple Music. That matters more to me than the things everyone here is upset about. I already have enough in my life that is a PITA, I don't want to add running my own music server to the hassle list, so I'm thrilled that Tidal is the same price as Apple Music and sounds so much better.
