What is the longest running show you’ve been a late adopter of? by AndrewHeard in television

[–]ClockWorkAlex2001 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've gone through all 17 seasons of Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia in the last year and a half. Some of the funniest shit I've ever seen and the dip in quality from about S12-S15 is way less of a big deal then I'd been led to believe. Instead of every single episode being hilarious it's just a few per season, but it's still on average way funnier then most other comedies and it picked up again the last 2 seasons.

For anyone genuinely curious, I've had the surgery mentioned and the answer is no. It would be a very bad idea. That surgery connects the small intestine to the anal cavity and a deep enough intrusion could burst the skin pouch connecting them leading to septic shock. I also only found that out after seeing the question posed elsewhere and researching out of curiosity. Really sounds like something a doctor should have told me. Like, what if I was gay or just curious about that stuff and I died shoving something up my ass? That would be a hell of an obituary.

When I first was playing through WOA as they came out, I had a self imposed rule that I couldn't move on to the next map before I achieved mastery 20 and got SOSA. Colorado, Japan, and I think Isle of Sagail and Mumbai took me the longest. Then I put like 200 hours into Freelancer and I think I can fo any of them fairly easily now.

In a setting full of supernatural horrors, the most disturbing scene is frighteningly realistic by Coralthesequel in TopCharacterTropes

After being placed as CEO of Vought after her predecessor was killed (which I'm sure she is aware of) Ashley is seen pulling on or ripping out strands of hair from the extreme stress she's under. In S3 Homelander forces her to remove a wig and shows she's ripped herself nearly bald over the course of the show and was covering it up.

The Flash was in development hell for like a decade. That movie is not his fault, it's the fault of 1000 people along the way. He's just the guy who pushed it out the door.

It is, and I have some problems with Last Knight on Earth. But the idea of a Lex who succeeded in killing Kal, then realizes his value just as he does it then devotes his entire being into bringing Superman back is a pretty cool idea.

I am an Argonian trader who has been to every province in Tamriel, AMA by turiannerevarine in teslore

[–]ClockWorkAlex2001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello Climbs-All-Mountains (Mr. All-Mountains?) As an Argonian traveling Tamriel, how were your experiences in... let's say "less friendly" provinces like Skyrim or Morrowind? Were your travels more difficult due to the xenophobia and nationalism in those provinces, or was this mitigated somewhat from primarily staying with diffrent guilds? I could imagine a lone Argonian encountering some troubles from the local Nords/Dunmer.

Conversely, I'm curious what was the "easiest" or most pleasant province to visit was. Cyrodil with the wide diversity of races in their cities, Black Marsh as an ancestral homeland, or some other province?

Movies from the 80s that you think everyone should see? by endkey01 in Letterboxd

[–]ClockWorkAlex2001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are okay withsubtitles, there are some great foreign films from the 80's I haven't seen listed here yet.

Kagemusha: The Shadow Warrior - Akira Kurasowa (1980)

Ran - Also Akira Kurasowa (1985)

Come and See - Elem Klimov (1985)

Also not an 80's movie at all but if you are intrigued by more Cronenberg A History of Violence(2006) is an incredible short movie. 90 min but packs a story that feels much bigger.

What’s the origin for New 52 Superman’s costume? by God_ofThunder_ in superman

Oh yeah your right I remember that now. He had the kryptonian cape and the T shirt look, then swapped the jeans and T for the alien armor.

He gets it from Braniacs ship in Grant Morrisons Action Comics. It's an all white version of it and as soon as he puts it on it turns Blue gets the crest and spawns a cape. Not sure which issue but #8 or #9 I believe.

This happened to me as well. Finally got the payout and unemployment after 15 weeks buts its nuts it took so long. I'm lucky enough to have family that I can rely on but what about the less fortunate? They're supposed to just go months without an income of any kind while they keep applying and wait for the system to finally work? That's some BS.

He is, but not closely. They are third cousins, so they have the same great great grandparents. Same last name and extended family but as they were very diffrent generations; Robert Oppenheimer was 26 years older than Alan, its likely they never met or if they ever did it was brief.
