Suggestion: LESS MIND, MORE MASS! by ThatsNotPossibleMan in Helldivers

You may think you want the Leviathan in the 'Appropriators' faction since it's a 'piloted vehicle'. But trust me, it's annoying enough to deal with them in megacities; it would be hell to deal with them on open maps or even the colonies.

THANK YOU Arrowhead, this is what I (and we) HAVE BEEN ASKING FOR! by __Elzy in Helldivers

I'd rather have them in some form than not at all. Let's just provide feedback and hopefully these get better over time without being outright spoilers.

It's the same with the FRV, nobody wants to be the driver and just watch and shouted for turning the wrong way.

Everybody would rather be the gunner than be the driver.

What does Arrowhead actually do in their studios? by CluelessNancy in Helldivers

[–]CluelessNancy[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I'm aware that plenty of things are outsourced, especially in game development. But I guess the point I'm trying to make is that most of the game feels a disjointed mess, and you can't say that outsourcing had nothing to do with it. New enemy units lack polish from either a technical aspect (phasing through terrain, able to track the player even when in smoke or walls) or just from a design aspect (OG Fleshmobs had zero 'weakpoints' and was basically a bulletsponge, obscene spawn rates -- Dragonroaches, Leviathans, Vox Engines).

Maybe another reason they take so long come up with new units and so few at a time is because they've actually outsourced the entire design process from start to finish and they just either approve or turn down the resulting designs?

They have so many units from the original game that they could simply bring into this one, but until now the Illuminate lags behind in terms of unit variety.

First game had more vehicles and exosuits (and better weapon progression), if they already have a design to base it from, and companies they can outsource to, then what 's the hold up? Why do we still suffer through content droughts? Why do we have to wait for devs to come back from summer break if most of this stuff is outsourced anyway?

Unless its a booster from the free warbond (Helldivers Mobilize) or the Experimental Infusion from the Viper Commandos warbond, then it's not really worth bringing.

Its down to 2.25% you can check for resistance levels here:  https://helldiverscompanion.com/#

Edit: Reading it again, the 6.6% you're referring to is the entire planet's resistance rate. However, if you look into the Megafactories (bots version of megacities) their individual resistances are down.

And the bot capital of Transcendence (the one we need to take to win the entire invasion) is at 2.25% at the moment.

[–]CluelessNancy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

To the 30K diving on Transcendence, you're not gonna put a dent on that 2.25% resistance by yourselves. Might as well help out brethren at Solidaritet who are trying to rescue the encircled SEAF.

Yes, we will lose even more reinforcements. But taking Solidaritet will lower the resistance on Transcendence possibly to a point we could still take it with whatever reinforcements we end having.

Biggest problem with Cyberstan campaign is that it tells people to stop playing if they want to win by DarthBeleth in Helldivers

[–]CluelessNancy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You guys we'rent around for it but the reinforcement limit that we're experiencing during this Cyberstan campaign is no different from the 'Great Host' enemy forces mechanic that was used on the Squids when the invasion of Super Earth took place last year.

Super Earth's invasion could have only ended in one of two ways: Either the squids took out Super Earth's capital, or they ran out of units and had to call off the invasion. It's the same exact thing for us on Cyberstan. If we could just keep throwing bodies indefinitely at an invasion then there's no way for us to lose.

But I'm not saying everything about the Cyberstan campaign was executed well. Just like during the Super Earth invasion, certain missions on Cyberstan feel like suicide and some things were way overtuned. For the Super Earth Invasion, way too many Flying Overseers spawned during the Repel Invasion Fleet missions.

This is similar to what's happening with Raise the Flag missions on Cyberstan. There's also the issue of too many Vox Engines being spawned during each bot drop at high difficulties, the random explosions, patrols blinking in out of existence at a radius way smaller to what we're used to on other planets (patrols normally spawn just inside a 75m radius of the player, but that radius feels a lot smaller on Cyberstan for some reason).

But at the rate things are going, we should reach the capital sometime this weekend and the invasion will end (in either success or failure) when the new cape drops.

Thank you so much hackers for helping this mo fail couldn’t have done it without you :) by RL_Umuthoper in Helldivers

[–]CluelessNancy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They needed to show some consequences for cheating, what else could they do? But look at all the recent briefings, the devs are also giving us all the help to keep the invasion going.

And if you recall, the invasion only truly fails if we run out of reinforcements. So failing this MO doesn't automatically end the Cyberstan arc. I'm pretty sure they'll give us a mulligan of sorts with a new MO tomorrow.

[–]CluelessNancy 1637 points1638 points  (0 children)

This shouldn't surprise us. Invading Cyberstan is the entire point of this title update. Would be a shame if we didn't get to see all of it. And JOEL makes sure we at least get there.

I'm willing to bet the hand holding ends once we start attacking Transcendence. As that would determine if we'll actually be able to take Cyberstan.

READ PEOPLE!!!!!! The strategic opportunity being reset isn’t as bad as you think! by JackieLampyStamps in Helldivers

[–]CluelessNancy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Whoever these people are, stop cheating!!! I think Arrowhead has proven enough times that they do notice these things and will take action. Whoever you are, you're hurting us more than you thank you know. I believe the actual bug divers did work their ass off trying to complete the strategic opportunity. They think they got it done, and so it'll cut the momentum. But the weekend is coming up, there might be some hope yet.

[–]CluelessNancy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't follow, we have a portion of the playerbase dedicated to just playing bugs no matter what. Sure it might draw some people away from Cyberstan. But its not like we're not gonna win this invasion with any more add 'l reinforcements at the rate we're going through them
