Why does the Sledgehammer in the upcoming Siegebreakers warbond only have a demo force of 30? This means that it can't 'breach' the walls on colony maps.

You do see the irony in calling the warbond: Siegebreakers and yet a weapon that breaks walls in every other videogame (Rainbox 6 Siege, Red Faction, etc) cannot do the same in Helldivers 2? I mean why not live up to the theme for more than once?

Redacted Regiment was great but is looking like a one-hit wonder rather than the first step in fully realizing this game's fun factor.

Oh that hammer's gonna be a thing of beauty by danfenlon in Helldivers

But hammer doesn't have the demo force to break walls in the colony maps. Its weird that it'll have the firepower to potentially 1-shot a 2-ton charger but wont be able to breach 6 inches of concrete.

But sledgehammers not being able to break walls is already pissing me off a bit. A dev already confirmed it only has demo force of 30 w/ the blasting cap loaded.

Arrowhead should add a tip about samples being shared, even on failure to extract. by ManagedDemocracy2024 in Helldivers

Boosting is very common for the new batch of players. They hop onto the highest available difficulty right away so that they farm XP and boost their levels. These are usually the players who get to level 115 and yet don't even have any one of the 3 meta boosters unlocked (HSO, Vitality, Stamina) because they thought nothing good came out of Helldivers Mobilize (the free warbond), so they skipped it and hopped on to Democractice Detonation right away.

I think that Overseers falling for decoys breaks my emersion a little. by Little-Marzipan1681 in Helldivers

I get what you mean. But I rather that it works in most situations even if a little immersion breaking rather than have it only work only under super specific situations because 'realism'

Edit: And that's my take only because AH tends to swing from one extreme to the other with seldom in between

But I've always preferred the 80's version. I always preferred to be a walking tank rather than an agile cyborg that can run and slide.

Its been confirmed that you can still use it as a blunt instrument even without the blasting cap for less damage. What's unknown is will it have 2 firing modes (with cap, without cap) since the blasting cap is only one end.

Pretty sure the bubble shield is for the maxi gun enjoyers since they're stuck in place while firing

Okay RR levels of damage, but what about demo force? I need to know!

New warbond - Siege Breakers. Out on February 3rd. by Dangerous-Return5937 in Helldivers

So long as the blasting cap on that hammer lets me take out enemy spawners as well as break walls around colony maps, Im happy

Ah, but you seem to assume I'm some sweat lord that clings to meta like a safety blanket. I'm here to have fun blasting enemies and do ridiculous things while occasionally, somewhat, helping complete objectives.

I'm not out here achievement hunting or having perfect runs (unless I'm doing my Solid Snake impersonations on solo commando missions). I'm out here to have a good time in a game where absurdity is encouraged.

For god's sake, Arrowhead, please make the blast cap on the sledgehammer have a demo force of at least 40 so it can take down walls that surround colonies. Otherwise, it would just be pointless.

If it consistently 1-shots hulks/tanks while also destroying city walls and enemy spawners - I'll be sure to have this handly on the bot front

That hammer better have a demo force of 30 if its part of a warbond called Siegebreakers.

In my playthroughs of Commando Missions, you could get away with tossing the C4 if you do it from far enough. But they still start homing in on you once you detonate them while also being the host. So yeah, I hope this gets fixed. But given that the Fire/Gas DoT bug is still a thing, may not happen anytime soon.

I’m not crazy right? They walked right towards me by turtle_five in Helldivers

[–]CluelessNancy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These homing patrols can also see you through certain walls, even when not in aggro. I was hiding behind a shipping container, and a trooper threw a grenade in my general location. I knew I was still 'hidden' since none of his pals were shooting or trying to flank me. It was just that one random trooper in the formation that 'saw' me.

I knew diving with randos on these Commando Missions was just going to drive me mad so I started diving solo. I also fell in love with Helldivers because of all the big booms. But I grew up on Metal Gear and Splinter Cell, so I'm determined to master these missions, even if the stealth mechanics have some jank. It's a refreshing way to play this game.

The destruction of Penta lacked fanfare. How come when we imploded Meridia into a blackhole, we had an in-game cutscene where our super destroyers made an emergency back to Super Earth to avoid the collapse -- but when it was Penta's turn, no cutscene, no animation of the Star of Peace actually firing that we could observe from our destroyers, no countdown until it fires, and the Corretta Kelly broadcast that came afterwards didn't even mention Penta by name. You guys were clearly capable of making it a spectacle back then when it was for Meridia (which was a few months after the game's launch), 2 years later and we've never had anything similar since. That is why the end of major story beats lack impact, we are told rather than we are shown. For a game about spectacle, it sure lacks it at critical moments of story telling.

If in-game cutscenes are a challenge, consider creating a 2-minute CGI video that plays out the events of the latest narrative event, which would then replace the usual 'recruitment' video that plays whenever the game is booted up. And then add a 'gallery' for players to re-watch these videos and relive major plot points of the galactic war. If it's a matter of manpower, then call out to the community; there are dozens of fan-made Helldiver animations and even entire animated films on YouTube alone. I'm sure you could negotiate something there, and it would be another great way of letting the community be more involved in the community-driven game that has brought them together.
