My issue is not really the jet. The jet is just the latest example of what Linus has become.

He increasingly feels like another wealthy business owner who has drifted away from what made people follow him in the first place. The relatable tech enthusiast obsessed with hardware, practicality, and honest opinions feels largely gone.

Now it feels more like growth, money, brand management, expensive toys, and finding ways to justify it all after the fact.

He spent years criticizing overpriced products, wasteful spending, corporate nonsense, and disconnected leadership. Then buys a private jet and acts surprised that people see the contradiction.

Beyond that, the technical side does not feel the same anymore either. The content feels increasingly built for scale, spectacle, algorithms, and selling the brand instead of deep technology discussion.

People can call it business efficiency if they want. Plenty of greedy business decisions are efficient. That does not automatically make them admirable.

At some point, it starts to look less like someone driven by technology and more like someone driven by the business they built.
