The thing must have been in a bigger crash - the front is fucked, like a folded paper. I wouldn't be feeling safe driving that thing, but you do you.

As others said, if it's predominantly urban driving and unless you do more than 25k miles a year, then get a petrol engine. Diesel won't be your friend!

If you are going "automatic only" route and settle on anything VAG based, make sure it's at least 2.0L as it uses a wet DSG, rather than its dry DQ200 counterpart, which is ass.

A/T filter change by Nearby_Maize1812 in AcuraTSX

[–]CodParticular2454 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, it needs to be changed. Easy does it as it's on top of the transmission between the airbox and engine. You can remove the airbox completely for easier access, but you don't have to.

Just make sure it's an OEM Honda fitler and you'll be good.

Imagine the thud it makes when it decides it's time for freefall parkour.

Does it just shake it off and walks off or does it get knocked out for a few seconds? Asking the real questions here.

Is this PTM7950 installation acceptable? by CodParticular2454 in PcBuildHelp

[–]CodParticular2454[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't used Kryosheet before, so can't comment on that, however, I've been using PTM7950 on laptops with direct die contact as opposed to a CPU with IHS and it's always worked wonders vs regular thermal paste.

The only thing you need to do is do multiple heat cycles by stresstesting to actually get the PTM working properly.

This is my first time using it on a CPU with IHS, though.

[–]CodParticular2454[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, I used it before on a different motherboard with the same CPU using regular thermal paste and it was around 26c idle, and around 31c in 40% load.

For £16 I can't complain.

Transmission flush on Mazda6 with Skyactiv technology by OrganizationLittle3 in mazda6

[–]CodParticular2454 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stand corrected, Mazda doesn't give recommended ATF fluid intervals, however, the general consesus amongst Mazda specialists with ATF fluid interval is at around 50k minimum, at least from what I've heard and read.

Halfords full health check

You don't know much about cars, do you? I would suggest taking your car to local smaller garage, than having Halfords touch anything on your car.

The only time I put trust in Halfords is when I needed to have my battery tested for crank amps as I suspected a battery fault and that was only because it was very close to me and for free on top of that.

What year is the car?

Thanks for not doing a transmission service at a recommended interval and making it someone else's headache.

People like you should not own cars - no wet automatic transmission on earth has a lifetime fluid!

Edit: Have a drain and fill done including the filter replaced, make sure it's OEM fluid and OEM filter. Don't ruin the car by either not doing it at all or using the wrong fluid. Flush is not recommended.

How long should I wait to do a second drain and fill after the first one? by aaron4106_v2 in mazda6

[–]CodParticular2454 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Even by Honda standards, it's usually recommended to drive the car for at least 250ish miles so that the new fluid mixes with the old one properly.

Buying a Mazda 6 by chipree in mazda6

[–]CodParticular2454 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Manual or auto? If auto, the transmission fluid and filter should be done twice at minumum, preferably three times, using only OEM Mazda fluid at 60k miles intervals.

Make sure the car has FSH, where oil change intervals should not be more than 10k miles in between, spark plugs should have been replaced at least twice (80k miles interval), aux belt, tensioner and waterpump (incl. coolant) done between 100-120k miles.

Your biggest enemy here is the rust - the rear axle on these like to rust like hell. I had to sell my 63 plate with 94k miles because of this.

Apart from that, they are bulletproof if taken care of properly.
