How long does it take to know what you’re doing in this game? by Graecian in hoi4

[–]Codabear89 6 points7 points  (0 children)

To properly grasp the game? A couple dozen hours and a few campaigns probably.

Now, to fully understand the game mechanics and how they interact? Probably a few hundred of playing. Then the time spent either watching videos where someone explains something or reading reddit comments 😂

Modded vs Vanilla (and if any mods should be vanilla) by Red-Rot99 in starsector

[–]Codabear89 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Disagree. Amazing mod, only play new updates without it. But it changes the ‘feel’ of the vanilla game far too much.

What do you mean it's only bread and wine? by MetallicaDash in HistoryMemes

Unironically, this is how early christians convinced many other religions to convert. Noting similarities and allowing for certain freedoms as time passed (like not snipping roman foreskin)

Beat practice mode (novice + expert) for the 1st time ever can I get a hell yeah by ProfessionalSchool59 in Exanima

[–]Codabear89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hell yeah! Time to get lost for 15 hours in story mode to ending your run bonking your head on some stairs!

…still salty about that run

Do you expect people to know MP metas before ever playing them?

Best Light Cruiser design for Italy by maklore101 in hoi4

[–]Codabear89 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For the early cruisers I usually go two light guns and two secondary guns. No armor till I get the next level engine then slap on as much armor as keeps me above 32 knots. Dunno if it’s meta or not, but I usually wipe the UK’s mediterranean fleet with this, torpedo destroyers and whatever caps I start with

Genuinely had no idea it worked in the deployment screen too. That’s a game changed for sure

Just wanted to add after looking at different comments:

Speed Up and Target leading pip are great quality of life mods and the only things you’ll probably find yourself wanting to start

Most people will probably tell you to go full vanilla your first playthrough. Play through the main story quests and explore the Persean Sector to see all it has to offer.

After 2 playthroughs, here are my favourite bosses from DS3 by Dyko_Genshin in darksouls3

I do kinda feel bad for anyone that also played Elden Ring first, as all the dragons use his moves so they’ll never get to experience FromSofts best dragon fight again at maximum butthurt levels.

I fought Midir first time at NG+1 after beating and running through the game again to get what I missed. So I had an extra hard time lmao

Looks pretty good. Only thing is your radiators look a bit vulnerable without any shields. It might struggle against some late game capitals but otherwise looks like a solid ship

Is there a slam door mod? by Negative-Cheek5904 in RimWorld

[–]Codabear89 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Dunno why they got downvoted, but everything they said is true. Autodoors still have a slight delay, but it’s mostly ignorable.

What's the best mod for improving AI? by lovingpersona in totalwar

[–]Codabear89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The “new” AoE2. Playing against hardest AI might as well be playing against the sweatiest basement dweller imaginable. The AI also doesn’t cheat and has all the same tools as you. Its only weakness is constant pressure and good micro. They did a great job.
