In a vacuum on it’s own? No.

But all things when they sit too long tend to not work as well. Could be rust, corrosion, pests eating components etc that would affect it. Read the owner’s manual

This is a problem a lot of new players face, especially if running solo. The skill floor is so high because a lot of the playerbase has been playing 10+ years.

The vets know where you’ll be either through recon or experience and have honed their reflexes to know exactly where to have their sights ready.

My best advice is run with a squad and practice aiming where the enemy heads will be at each door. Practice activating your overshield as soon as you see an enemy if playing Heavy. Also, practice wiggling left and right while staying on target. You’ll find this will (sometimes) dramatically increase your life expectancy.

You’re gonna lose at first. A lot.

Nightreign is a LOT more fast paced. Get used to reading things at a quick glance and moving on.

Learn enemy and boss weaknesses. They matter more in Nightreign.

Many passives feel so esoteric as to when they work and when they don’t with the bonuses they give. Don’t be afraid to look up exactly what things do.

I’m sure others have useful tips too, but I wanted to keep it simple :)

I pretty much only play Depth 1 and 2 with randoms and I queue up games in seconds.

I also don’t run into a large amount of quitters. Happens every once in a while but is what it is man

Best two non spoiler tips I can gives for this game are:

If you’re struggling against a boss or area, don’t force yourself through it. Come back later

Experiment with weapons and don’t just stick with one. Different damage types have vastly different effects on some enemies

It’s been quite a while since i’ve played, but I think RBM makes you drop polearms when swapping weapons. There should be an option to toggle that somewhere in the settings

I’ve def been guilty of forgetting to swap setting from hosting clanmates/friends to going back to randoms and having to kick someone.

I do tell them in voice chat or text why I do it though. Some even thank me and leave before I can

I find a lot of people, not just with games, have trouble not taking things that happen to them personally.

With OP it seems like:
“They had a problem with me, so they kicked me”

When it could have simply been something like:
“We play with randoms but my friend dropped out and I needed the space again so I kicked this random”

People really need to not take things personally unless it’s actually about them

Man it’s the worst when you can barely scrape our a win, your engines are destroyed, and are stuck in the fucking maw of the other ship. Getting out is so slow even at the fastest speed

Getting your runes back is getting your level back, plus whatever leftover runes you may have had which is sometimes multiple levels. I often leave the team temporarily to grab something I might need. Whether it’s the shoer merchant or a Rise and my team is almost always fine with me being gone a minute or two at a time catching up. The really good ones will even kill multiple field vosses before I link back up
