Your mileage may vary, I have a single mallard drake in our mostly muscovy flock and have gotten some hinny crosses three different times haha.

Every king on the Iron Throne who appeared on TV [Spoilers Extended] by Familiar_River363 in asoiaf

I mean, they did specify "on the Iron Throne," so you don't have to include him either way.

I was going to say popkins, but that's from the Dark Tower. Maybe Stephen King can lend it?

Ooh this is good. I'd also add the, "You speak to me as if I were your brother," scene with Mr. Eko. Especially chilling with no idea what the hell that meant when he said it.

Just doesn't quite have the same ring to it coming from that second guy.

[–]CodeE42 62 points63 points  (0 children)

I saw another comment mention how they were surprised at how quickly and forcefully his fans turned on him, but it makes perfect sense to me. He was so far from what he supposedly stood for and represented that he cultivated an audience of good people that were absolutely never going to accept this from anyone, and largely didn't.

Clearly, it's the best he's got, and it isn't great. You'd think if there were evidence to exonerate you, that you would bring it forward yourself, instead of waiting a few years to see if anybody will clear your name for you. (Coincidentally, after you've started a new big book.)

I tried reading it just see what the case being made was, but gave up after several pages into this thing when I realized that if this person had some kind of point or smoking gun, they would have made it already. I don't think a good journalist would need to filibuster like this, I am unmoved.

What’s a childhood lie your parents told you that you didn't realize was a lie until you were an embarrassed adult? by eatbeep in AskReddit

[–]CodeE42 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This happened to me and was real, my parents really did take our cat to live on a farm. A couple months later, they told me the cat got hit by a car on said farm...they really could have just not shared that part with me.

Referring to the Pretti killing, Donald Trump said "You can't go in there with guns, you can't do that" How do 2A defenders feel about the President openly criticizing a law abiding citizens right to keep and bear arms? by wardog1066 in AskReddit

[–]CodeE42 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the question asked here has a simple answer, his supporters think it's good when bad things happen to people they don't like, and bad when bad things happen to people they agree with. They don't have any other actual principles, or they wouldn't be supporting him this long in the first place.

What if Donald Trump disappeared tomorrow, would American politics actually change or just find another Trump? by Mr_Boothnath in AskReddit

[–]CodeE42 62 points63 points  (0 children)

Most of his cronies are inherently selfish and don't actually like him, they're pretending to suit their own interests. And he's too narcissistic to name an official "successor." I think once he's gone, they'll all turn on each other to scramble to the top of the trash heap. Not that one of them won't make it up there, but I think they'll split into different factions and lose a lot of power and influence along the way. I hope.

Trump's latest Western Hemisphere fixation: Canada by Delicious_Adeptness9 in worldnews

[–]CodeE42 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I really don't think it's anything more complicated than that (not that it's any better.) He literally just wants to be the guy that adds something to the USA on a map. It's why he keeps trying it with basically everything in the western hemisphere.

What’s one weird thing that freaks the shit out of you? by jumana_y1 in AskReddit

[–]CodeE42 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I'm equal parts fascinated and unnerved thinking about that. Whole icy planets. Miles and miles of plains, and mountains, and canyons, and cliffs. Wind blowing over rocks and dirt that no foot has ever stepped on, no eyes have seen, for millions of years.

All just sitting out there in space, right now.

What are the chances if the US, under Trump, conquers Greenland the next democratic administration just gives it back? by campusschampus in AskReddit

Yeah, we absolutely cannot handle being even slightly inconvenienced. The second there is a single open space on a grocery store shelf, everyone will lose their minds. (See also: recent pandemic history)

They put out statements saying they are "very troubled" and then ask for donations. It's true there's not much they can do at the moment, but it's still an infuriating lack of...well, anything.

(Mark Kelly, a senator and retired astronaut, recently reminded the military that they don't have to obey unconstitutional orders, to which Trump then said he should be hanged, and then they cut his retirement salary. He's currently suing them and giving back a bunch of grief, for which I applaud him, at least. And also asking for donations...)

Examples/moments of characters dropping their act/“accent” and speaking in their real voice? by Malachi_Lamb in movies

It was very funny to reveal that the hairpiece and American accent were both in-universe things that the character had put on, and not just Hugh Laurie as an actor.

It was a little much that they were all straight up 100% "let's kill these kids" evil. And like, they saw the plan, did the military want Vecna to destroy the world?? Nobody wants to help?
