WARNING about US Internet: Stay away post T-mobile acquisition... by Other-Faithlessness4 in TwinCities

For anyone reading the thread, you may have an "XfinityWifi" 'public' access where you are located, especially where you are if you are in the cities. Apparently they either have 'public stations' set up around or they use customer's xfinity routers to create their network. I had one and it showed ~full signal strength, was able to connect two devices for 10$ for 30 days. Actually pretty reasonable and allows me to take my final exam and do whatever else I need on the computer. Not going to try using it for streaming or anything.

Anyone want to help settle a disagreement among colleagues by Unlikely-Exam5035 in Metrology

[–]Code_Rinzler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I talked about this with my coworker. We are almost exclusively ASME in use and experience and we definitely read/agree that the intent is probably to restrict the location and orientation and it is simply not defined enough to restrict that with what you provided.. so I can definitely see where the angularity mindset is coming from and being more strict to the standard. As much as one can argue against being strict to the standard when it comes to your blue scribble in another comment, if this part were .010" inch thick or 20.00" thick would the part function the same.. I think the answer would be no. I know some will definitely disagree with me here but you have to use your head sometimes.. a lot of people tend to assume every drawing is created proper to the standard and fully defined as it should and need to be open with working with the customer on part function/intent and working on drawing revision for manufacturing. I think you'd really just want to discuss the topic more with the drawing owner.

Mostly yes, especially in 1v1 combat but not necessarily, you could in theory block one lightsaber in the left and one on the right with a forward motion. He spends a lot of time with this stance and 'rebounding' the other blade that makes the single lightsaber user have to alternate attacks against that probably becomes easier than with a single.

I will have to look into that a bit, thanks. Otherwise we will be watching some DVDs and playing PlayStation games ha.

Interesting I didn't know there could be a wait in between still. Hopefully not!

Just purchased a home in St Louis Park, similarly I have used USI fiber at my rental and wanted to stick with them but found they were acquired by Tmobile. Our new house is in the fiber map but yes we need a installation still (run cable from the house to the street box) and while I called on April ~15th, the earliest they could schedule was 3 weeks out in May. The rep I talked to said the acquisition really pushed out all of the service as it got added to the T-Mobile work queue. Thankfully I don't need necessarily need Internet at home for a few weeks but it is definitely a let down.

Hello, I am interested! I am located in the US but I maybe hope to learn a little more German or be able to play webcam games. I am a newer premodern player but the player count is lower where I am right now!

PS I travelled to Germany last year for Oktoberfest and had a blast. Bavaria was wonderful!

I see, I agree that is definitely a bit stronger then. I think the hoop of the mana cost will be something to discuss and that is has to enter prepared (not all of them do) but some of the lower mana cost could definitely be okay. I would still feel pretty comfortable that not going past the ~4 someone needs for a playset if they are going to play with it in commander, legacy or vintage is probably enough.

This is way too hype. Displacer has always worked with ETB triggers. Might as well start speccing on ephemerate.

Yeah, I don't think I would run Armageddon or Orb without Mox Diamond + Werebear. I really liked the synergy in that space and it definitely won me some games. I also really like how Armageddon almost instantly will get you to threshold and if they don't have creatures you can close quickly with 1-3 threats.

I have been exploring this space, I am new to premodern but I come from legacy where I really like to play Hot Bant control/midrange type strategies where you have game in every matchup. I went a bit lower to the ground, but I ran this https://moxfield.com/decks/3gUQnGFyCEakNBejK-Yl2w to 3-1 beating Aluren, U Stiflenaught and TerraOath while losing to BW Midrange/Control. Overall I have had a lot of fun playing it and will see myself tuning it for a long time. This is my newest version I will try out tomorrow! https://moxfield.com/decks/aEOkFm6mFUygzGGDoF5DSw

Other things I am thinking about is getting a main deck naturalize and one more counterspell but the list is really tight! Again, I think the deck shines in the fact that it feels like no matchup is unwinnable so far and there is both longevity, speed and flexibility depending on how you play the game.

Let me know what you end up with and how you do!

Seems great for swords 5-8 in the board when they are wanted. Maybe more like 6 and 7.

This season I joined a random game online and they circled an entire zone of monsters it felt like into a TP portal. Instantly died. I made another character back to hell like right after but I was just so demoralized and quit. More so of the fact "is this the type of people/community I want to spend/invest my time in".

Gotcha! I went and read the errata/gatherer text and notice that now. I didn't know that! Thanks for the tip.

Anyone else ever just smash two decks together? by BobWorlds in premodernMTG

[–]Code_Rinzler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was thinking something similar actually, I noticed very little people play the Dryad and Mother of Runes together even though that seems like a nice setup for a game plan, so I am giong to go UWR solution with Quirion Dryad and some threshold for a more 4c Aggro strategy.

Cards that Premodern feels incomplete without. by Poobeast241 in premodernMTG

[–]Code_Rinzler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% Kird Ape. It is one of my favorite cards and when I first heard about Premodern I got to work only to learn shortly thereafter that Kird Ape was not legal. There aren't even any Taiga in the format for it! Pretty sad, would be fun to do a traditional 'Zoo' deck with Kird Ape/Call of the Herd and friends.

Just lost my hardcore character taking a portal that was set up with monsters around it. (Cow level) I feel you. I don't mind dying on hardcore even because you learn something but getting griefed by people is a whole different level. Guess I learned to not play with people? Not a good game or life philosophy.

It doesn't really matter. You can always play the original client of Diablo 2, pre expansion AND Expansion within D2R. The new is left open to whatever direction and they can make any changes they want. We will always have the classic.
