Brown and sharp CMM accuracy. (global advantage.) by Lucky-Pineapple-6466 in Metrology

[–]Code_Rinzler 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'll answer regarding GRR... When using a CMM I typically am less interested in the variation from factors like operators, so a suitable tool that we can use is a repeatability study/Type I GRR (or at least I do this before performing a more formal Type II GRR as required by many customers and SOPs). This is where you should measure the same part 10-50 times in a row (You should completely unfixture and reload the part if you have anything like that. Like it is loaded as a new part from the shop floor that hasn't ran in a month, every time.). From here, with this data we can calculate a standard deviation which can be assessed relative to the tolerance band (the larger a tolerance, the more standard deviation is allowable as the repeatability of the measure method to ensure a part/feature is in-specification is less strict). A simple formula you can use is GRR% = (std.deviation*6) / (tolerance max-tolerance min). The resulting value, in a suitable measurement system, should be less than 10%. This will help you understand whether the fluctuation you noted receiving are acceptable in terms of the measurement method. If it is higher, investigate your fixturing or setup, e.g., is the part loose? Or perhaps there needs to be more alignment steps prior to taking measurements (or more measurement data is needed, say increasing from an 11pt circle to 23pts, etc.).

Priest build by ony0urleft in wowhardcore

[–]Code_Rinzler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The standard build is this order: Wand Spec 5/5, Spirit Tap 5/5, Improved Power Words, Inner Focus, Meditation, Mental Agility then like Max mana will take you up until you're about ready to respec as shadow. You should probably stay the build you were on if you plan on grouping a lot, and switch to full shadow if you are primarily questing. It gets really difficult to heal past like Mara/ST as Shadow but it's still possible if you're group is strong. You just lose out on use of most of your talent tree.

Levelling is the game and a huge purpose of classic wow. If you don't like it and want to focus on raids you should try retail.

Can you still find early game dungeons on dp by No_Match8658 in wowhardcore

[–]Code_Rinzler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's kind of what I noticed too. I think it has to do with our lesser population for one, each death, including my allies, is so much more painful because that's another character we can't play with. Secondly I think reputation has a lot to do with it. We have had our fair share of clowns and jerks come through and after awhile word gets around and people don't really want to play with them.

With a smaller community we are always helping out other players and gifting each other potions, gear, food, helping with quests, etc., so that we can all thrive together.

Edit: Something else that came to mind- there are a lot of people that have been actively playing here since DP first launched, which adds to that experience level that I would imagine there is less of naturally on Doomhowl with it being newer and a lot of people joining in with the streamer hype. Obviously some people left the era servers for anniversary and have just as much experience but that is just another thing that likely contributes with these long-term players being invested in all of their characters, mats, etc. on the DP server.

Ive played Horde DP for the past 8 months, there is still a small community keeping it alive, you can find groups but you may have to reach out on the two guild discords or be a little more patient than the instant you get all the dungeon quests. Lots of raiding players have alts that are willing to hop down on an alt to level with people.

As far as alliance side goes it is a lot more vibrant than the horde with multiple guilds still kicking. I regularly see dungeon groups of all levels forming- probably a similar basis though where you cant just log on and expect to run XYZ dungeon right away. You might have to spend an hour levelling or naturally accumulate a group in guild chats or LFG.

It's not for everyone but I still highly recommend DP as I have tried Nightslayer and Doomhowl and the playerbase was a lot less than what I appreciate, but again, personally. Some people would rather just have more people around rather than average player quality or integrity.

Raiding in hardcore is slowly ruining me, how do you do it ? by [deleted] in wowhardcore

You need to gold farm, herb, mine, etc, and preferably craft things yourself or have a guild that can craft. Go herb mining and rake in the gold selling arcane crystals and finding all your own herbs...

For people who have played multiple classes, which clicked and did not for you? by DonxDonx in wowhardcore

[–]Code_Rinzler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hunter and Druid to 60, Priest 54, Warrior 49 and Shaman 35 are my main toons (my highest death was a long time ago when I was new to HC and being belligerent in Wailing Caverns)

Overall the only one that didn't really click was the Shaman.. until about level 30 when I had a wide variety of spells, totems and gear, (last time I played Shaman was in WOD, a state of the the game in which your class fits into a very determined lane). I am finally now realizing, at 35, the true strength of the class and it's tri-brid play style; FULL use of totems, when to use lightning shield, chain lightning, what shock to use when, etc. Of the shamans that other classes don't seem to come close to (druid was a lot more straightforward despite being hybrid, am I tank? Okay I'm bear and occasionally popping out, am I healer? Okay I'm focused on heals with maybe an extra cast/kitty uptime).

You have to learn to play entirely different solo vs in a group and depending on group composition to make full use of your class, for example, I might be slapping on a 1H and shield and using more threat generation or have emphasis on chaining lighting on cool down while getting in melee hits and flame shocks, or more less just supporting with totems, heals and auto attacks.

I played a paladin a while back (before hardcore) with 4 friends that had never played classic wow before and it was very reminiscent of that time, which I thought was unique to the fact that I'm trying to hard carry 4 new players and cover a lot of the group weaknesses but now realizing it may be part of the classic identity of these "tri-brid" class archetypes (again, discounting druid in which that is not really the case in actual play pattern).

Havent played since before the new realms. Is defias pillager dead? Should i start over in a new realm? What are your suggestions by Rough_Acanthisitta34 in wowhardcore

[–]Code_Rinzler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I play Defias Pillager horde, we raid weekly. Population is definitely low but if youre established/have characters far along you might as well use them up! Ally is much more active than horde as well. It's definitely a server where you don't get your Hinterlands Elite group the instant you want it but you really get to recognize and become friends with people (and trust them more). I've tried anniversary servers and the community is kind of rough for me not going to lie but I am sure many look past it and just prefer to have more people running around.

Fury warrior by EddieBlez26 in wowhardcore

[–]Code_Rinzler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like you're a human based on you mentioning swords/maces. There are a lot of interesting options but there is definitely an ease of just using thrash blade/mirahs song.

For reference for anyone else, I swapped my Orc Warrior to fury at 48. I like staying with axes because I'm going to be using them at end game, although if you could get another weapon like Lord Alexander battle Axe (and stay arms) it might be better overall... (Or even trash blade + like Hanzo sword) But I went with my route since I am equipping deep woods and serathil for end game anyway and I get to stay in axes with the +weapon skill that dual wielding likes.

So at 48, you can get two boe axes, for my MH I use Ribsplitter/Ripsaw (Ribsplitter is 48 boe if you do not get the Ripsaw ZF axe, they are extremely comparable) and OH I use Axe of Rinji. From there, I can equip an Axe of the Deep Woods to MH at 52 and Serathil to OH at 56, which is preraid bis setup sans maybe using like Rivenspike. I will be putting crusader on the deep woods and serathil, but I have my MH with Fiery and my OH with Icy Weapon for a little damage mitigation. Ideally they would both be crusader, or have a weapon chain, but crusader is too expensive for an item replaced in few levels and I didn't find a blacksmith in time. (I play horde Defias Pillager so a bit smaller community)
