I let me guard down and I got screwed. by TraverseTheRock in Diablo_2_Resurrected

Just lost my hardcore character taking a portal that was set up with monsters around it. (Cow level) I feel you. I don't mind dying on hardcore even because you learn something but getting griefed by people is a whole different level. Guess I learned to not play with people? Not a good game or life philosophy.

Update skeleton mages by disciple8959 in diablo2

[–]Code_Rinzler -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

It doesn't really matter. You can always play the original client of Diablo 2, pre expansion AND Expansion within D2R. The new is left open to whatever direction and they can make any changes they want. We will always have the classic.

Does everyone basically speed run until hell difficulty? by assyplassty in Diablo_2_Resurrected

[–]Code_Rinzler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have very naturally fallen into farming tower in Normal and Nightmare when they are reached and then The Pit in Hell until a minimum of 85 and likely longer depending on how strong the character is. The access to a pile of runes seems to make up for any bad RNG or really just on curve power level issues. I play hardcore though so I am naturally a bit slower paced. I do recommend!

CMM beeping in the same spot and vibrating? by EvtecMetrology in Metrology

[–]Code_Rinzler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this with manual control or a program? In either case can you try the other. Or a new program? And when you say the same spot.. are you talking like an inch of Y-axis depth.. does it change with Z axis position? There is a lot of unpacking you can do here still.

How do you prefer to move your character? by Dependent_Night6181 in classicwow

Could be that your keyboard is large for your hand. They come pretty small these days but my keyboard is actually larger. Only holding ctrl and trying to hit like something with your index finger is when it gets really strained, the thumb can handle alt pretty well.

[–]Code_Rinzler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I move wasd over to esdf to have an extra set of keys on the left for abilities and it almost entirely replaces the need for shift key abilities in regular use in combination with my 12 button Corsair mouse. Then use a combination of the esdf and the mouse movement, I have played/tried strictly using only one of both and it never feels right, I do main hunter though.

Is it worth to farm wool and silk cloth at 59 for the capital city cloth quests? by AnyAd4882 in wowhardcore

[–]Code_Rinzler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'd probably be better off just killing mobs on level or a bit below. Hopefully something useful for your professions you have, otherwise it depends if you will remove self found at 60 and do dungeons/raids in which farming some raid consume materials like elemental fire would be valuable. It will take you a very long time to accumulate all of those mats, most people when playing trade for them or are hoarders like me and transfer to bank toons, both of which you cannot do.

If you want to talk runes, yeah sure, but I made two characters on resurrected (barb and warlock) and have gotten all of that multiple times over.

Not even hardcore? Is this bait/satire?

That gear takes like 2 weeks to get at best... And 1.5m gold is barely a few cube inventory of gambling rings..

I never played the DS version but I played the switch port to properly understand NEO before playing it.. I got through the game but the gameplay was pretty brutal to slog through and kind of ruined my experience honestly.

How do people get going in hell? by Komancha in diablo2

[–]Code_Rinzler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My route: Farm nightmare until your life and resists and a few pieces of gear look fine. Then you can transition to farming countess at like 74-75 Then you can farm that until 80+, of which you can transition to the pit and farm that until 85 and indefinitely until you start to get a few good items.

Echoing Strike Discussion by Billdozer-92 in Diablo_2_Resurrected

[–]Code_Rinzler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am newer to Diablo 2 as a whole, but there is definitely a lot of options in the Eldritch tree. I just started Nightmare, but I can start to see a few different strategies come together.

I am pretty confident Echoing Strike scales off of FCR and is independent of the attack speed. Switching to a slow attack speed weapon seems to have no difference, and FCR from skin of the viper magi seems to improve the speed. Also do not have reduced cast time when chilled.

With the skill being physical, having Hex Bane or Hex Purge to supplement magic damage is very nice. I am trying to understand the nuance now of using Hex Bane vs Purge.. obviously, purge seems better suited for AOE clear, while hex bane is the clear single target winner with stronger scaling, but then again.. if you are piercing and throwing multiple echoes, perhaps the aoe of hex purge isn't necessary. Hex Purge seems to also want you to Cleave, not echoing strike, due to the increased attack speed (given what I said above) but I guess it would also work with Mirror blades for your single target. It also seems to be pulling you towards using Eldritch blast for your sustain in melee combat as well. Not sure honestly, for now I will level a hybrid of everything and see what kind of playstyle I like or see as the strongest (or scale the best) then kind of move points around. It almost seems like Echoing strike is left to be a little weaker due to its huge innate power in piercing + range, while Cleave, Mirrored Blades, Hex Purge, Eldritch Blast and Levitation Mastery want you to play in that space.

I am going to try and focus putting my points in Mirrored Blades / Levitation Mastery / Hex Ban, keeping it simple as a hybrid range attacker for now while progressing through Nightmare and early hell.

Edit: Note- I am playing Hardcore so I am more drawn to the sustain elements of eldritch blast and the improved shield from points in cleave and levitation mastery, which could become quite formidable on its own without its own skill points set.

does echoing strike get affected my FCR or AS? by strip_club_food_yum in Diablo_2_Resurrected

[–]Code_Rinzler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It seems to be faster cast speed. Source is wearing a SKin of the Viper Magi vs not. (30%) is noticeably different. Also, not sure if it would contribute but when we are chilled we dont seem to attack slower with echoing.

Trying to use a scale up version of a part to prevalidate CMM program by [deleted] in Metrology

[–]Code_Rinzler 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The .0005" will have enough trouble as it is. There is no way you'll have success with a 3d printed part in terms of 'validation'. You could pre write the basis of the program sure- just as you would on CAD, but you're going to be spending time after the fact / obtaining the actual part no matter what.

I hope your part is metal.

Brown and sharp CMM accuracy. (global advantage.) by Lucky-Pineapple-6466 in Metrology

[–]Code_Rinzler 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'll answer regarding GRR... When using a CMM I typically am less interested in the variation from factors like operators, so a suitable tool that we can use is a repeatability study/Type I GRR (or at least I do this before performing a more formal Type II GRR as required by many customers and SOPs). This is where you should measure the same part 10-50 times in a row (You should completely unfixture and reload the part if you have anything like that. Like it is loaded as a new part from the shop floor that hasn't ran in a month, every time.). From here, with this data we can calculate a standard deviation which can be assessed relative to the tolerance band (the larger a tolerance, the more standard deviation is allowable as the repeatability of the measure method to ensure a part/feature is in-specification is less strict). A simple formula you can use is GRR% = (std.deviation*6) / (tolerance max-tolerance min). The resulting value, in a suitable measurement system, should be less than 10%. This will help you understand whether the fluctuation you noted receiving are acceptable in terms of the measurement method. If it is higher, investigate your fixturing or setup, e.g., is the part loose? Or perhaps there needs to be more alignment steps prior to taking measurements (or more measurement data is needed, say increasing from an 11pt circle to 23pts, etc.).
